Yes, I had this delivery sent all at once: 10 assembled circuit boards, 10 front panels, and 10 back panels. That way, I only had to pay shipping and customs fees once. I purchase the G738A cases from Estonia at www.gainta.com , where I bought the last 15 units. They will receive a new shipment of these cases at the end of October. I've already reserved 15 ;) |

I have also received one of the CMM2 G2 V2 from Manfred, it looks very nice. It was also a lot cheaper then the colour maximite sold by Bugetronics. A great job done.Greetings, Nick de pe1goo |

Thanks, That is useful information, since the local electronics shop closed, and farnell is much more expensive. Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Hello forum members from Germany, I have received 10 new CMM2G2V2 boards, which I am currently testing and installing in a G738A case with black front and back panels made of PCB with white labels. I can offer them again for an incredibly low price of EUR 53 (including DHL shipping). If you are interested, please send me a PM or leave a message here at this german forum.classic-computing.de. Hello Mani, Do you also have a casing with the front panels available? I still have a circuit board, but no casing. Matthias aus dem Pott |

Is there a way to use an STLink with the CMM2 Gen2 V2? Thanks, kninja_pi |

Yes, that is what the ICSP header is for. Bottom left in the pic above |

The front and back panels from ManiB look great, but I'm having problems with the USC-C connector. It makes poor contact because it can't be inserted deeply enough. Are there any Type-C connectors with a longer plug (just the oval metal part)? |

Assuming the hole in the back panel is large enough for your plug, check the USB-C socket with a magnifying glass to see if there is debris inside stopping the plug going all the way in. |

The CMM2 I bought from Rictech came with a cable with an extra-long connector: about 9mm vs. the regular 7mm. |

I had the same problem with a Latte-Panda computer recently. I put a strip of tape across the top (from the connector to the cable) and it has fixed the issue. I guess not all USB connectors are made equally. |

Perhaps more of the plug's metal shell can be exposed by trimming its plastic molding back a mm or two. Edited 2026-01-06 07:16 by phil99 |

Is it the thickness of the rear panel that's causing the problem? Not all plugs are happy to lose about 2mm (1.6mm + a gap) for a panel. The easy solution is to open up the hole enough to take the entire plug size rather than just the end. It's usually not by much with those plugs. I've found in the past that the boxes are designed for a comfortable fit using 1.5mm panel thickness. Taking the copper off PCB material makes it just about right. I tried 1.2mm but the panels are a bit loose, although you can get the main board a bit closer for awkward components. Yes, I discovered during my initial testing, that the "Standard length" USB-C plugs are not long enough for use with this unit. As already stated, the panel thickness means the standard USB-C connector only JUST makes contact. Breath near it, and the connection is lost. Luckily, USB-C leads with longer "Noses" on them are easy to come by on ebay or AliExpress etc, so no problem there. I decided to make it part of the package when I send out any CMM2G2, as it is VERY likely, that most people will have bucket-loads of standard USB-C leads, but you can bet they won't have a single long-nose one! To avoid that causing issues with being able to USE the new toy you just received, I just include a long-nose USB-C lead with every unit now. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I feel like I am reading the script for a Python sketch. Clearly the hole is too small for a standard plug, so make the hole big enough for the plastic molding of a standard plug! |
