Then I added a larger triangle and a Dot for Pin 1. ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Just want to make sure before buying this software, that it's still working OK for others ? I have trialled it, and love it, but have read of people paying for a licence that doesn't work... (sorry for bumping a thread on my first post BTW) Julian |

I lost my registration details when my PC died and the 12 months ran out before I had a new PC running. An email to the author had things sorted out quickly so I don't thing there are any major problems with the licences. Jim VK7JH MMedit |

Humm... My License expired about 10 day ago... Now I can't produce any output files..! I thought that the program would still function without updating the license... Anyone else having this "issue"..? |

@Julian, I still use it and the 3D is going through a major upheaval at the moment. I can recommend Autotrax DEX to anyone.. It does have some minor bugs and things and that pop up from time to time but in the hole a very professional package.. the author generally works on bugs and has a fix the next day so support is extremely good and prompt. @Doug, Yes! Since posting that message We had to change the link as when we put the `site' up we used a `free' counter to show how many visitors and it flooded visitors computers with unsolicited spam and got worse than that SCAMs and hijack attempts.. Even after we removed the counter program the internet cache was still hitting people so the best way to fix it all was to change the links.. The new link is in my list site list which is HERE!!! @Zonker, Hmm that shouldn't happen unless you allowed the program to autoupdate AFTER your license expired.. Try using an archived version downloaded from The Archives Some advanced look at my latest board (Serial BackPack) out being produced now. ![]() ![]() ![]() Kind Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

I hadn't used my copy of DEX for about a year but when I fired it up this morning and set it to get the latest version, it went off on that mission but then seems to have reverted to a 2014 earlier version, with DEX reporting that it cant connect to the Autotrax site. It seems the url is out of date or similar. Very odd. I know I still have more than 12 months to run on the licence and I certainly had a later version this morning when I started than I now seem to have. Bill Bill |

OK, a progress report. I got in touch with the developer Iliya, who smoothed the way for a fresh install of the latest version and all is again well here in downtown Powranna, Tassie. My installation has jumped from the legacy build of 4.02.10, dated 24 July 2014, that I was left with after this morning's unsuccessful update, to version 8.01.10. I'm smiling again and hopefully my saga serves to demonstrate that Iliya is a good guy and easy to deal with. I think I first signed on back in about 2000. Bill Bill |

Thanks guys, that's very helpful. I've been trying to lay my finger on why I like it more than Designspark and Altium (which I use at work, but can't afford for my small home guitar pedal business). Altium is very powerful and feature rich, and Designspark gets the job done for free.. but.. Autotrax DEX is fun for me to use. That's the big factor. I was sold when I placed a resistor and it applied the correct colour bands to the 3d model from the selected series. Julian. |

Hi Julian, All, Autotrax DEX costs, I believe still, $49US for 12 months of updates... After your 12mths you can continue to use any version you like up to the expiry date. SO your license to use DEX doesn't cease and you can still use it as long as you like.. If a feature comes out that you like after the updates license expires then you can pay for another 12 months of updates.. The examples I added above (in my bad grammar post thanks to using an iPad whilst watching TV) are examples of what is currently being enhanced in Autotrax DEX. I am still to get to play with all the features but I like what I see there.. There are some issues in those examples, for instance my R1, C2 etc labels are missing for some reason but I think I have done something wrong when I added colour to the parts.
