Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I think you need to make sure PD is set properly to power up unit and GPIO0 is set correctly for programming mode

An old (but great) thread. Just got one the other day and today tried to get it going. Note to Self - Read the info first and then try.

So thanks to all for the info in this thread.

Anyway, I just got mine going, I've only tried Tera Term so far and I connected a terminal program on the PC via USB to the Device, then connected via WI-FI with Tera Term (also on the PC) I had to change the protocol to iPv4 to get that to work, so the two terminal programs are talking nicely.

Pretty simple once you have done one. Had to use the mobile phone to access the ESP Link setup page first to get it connected to the WI-FI router, after that all went well, I also set the baud rate to 230400 and used a static address.

I have two ESP-01 set up as in the above thread that have been working good for a number of months and for some unknown reason they both suddenly would no longer connect to MMEdit. I repeated the above process on both of these ESP-01's and their both back working OK again.
Not sure if anyone has a suggestion on why these would suddenly stop connecting and if in the future they do again stop connecting is the only option to re-flash and then re-connect to my Wifi as per above?

I'm just finding my way with all matters electronics, so please excuse the n00b question.

Is the shopping list to hook one of these up?

Wireless module
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AZDelivery-D1-Mini-Development-Compatible/dp/B01N9RXGHY/

Breadboard
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ElectroCookie-Solderable-Breadboard-Electronics-Gold-Plated-1-Blue/

Plus a few wires, a bit of patience and some more Lego to extend my Hobbytronics case?

@siwypiotr - could this be a candidate for the CMM2 Delxue?
