I started with Geoff's function generator from January.
It uses an AD9833 DDS Function Generator module.

I more or less copied the waveforms I found on the net - I think they were from the official tester.

My electric fence makes a good simulator.
Anything that gives a spark should do, such as a BBQ lighter.

As I said earlier, I have given up with this module for now. Might get back to it sometime...
