G'day, Peter, think you may have got the threads mixed up... or are you trying to tell me something... ![]() Volhout, thanks for testing, can you try setting: option colourcode off And testing again, works ok in colour but not in monochrome. Edit: Also affects HDMI in monochrome. Regards, Lyle. Edited 2025-05-28 06:38 by mozzie |

Lyle, I can confirm, with option colourcode off , the mouse cursor is 8x16, and does not line up with the text in the editor. Colourcode off .. who would have thought of that one. I never used It since colourcode was introduced. Peter… a small one for you to fix probably.. Volhout . I actually like the mouse. Going to adapter Some games for It… or port some of William Leue's CMM2 games. Some of these can only be played with mouse. Edited 2025-05-28 15:41 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Harm Please can you check if this fixes it? If not I will probably block the mouse completely in the editor when colourcode is off PicoMiteVGA.zip |

Hi Peter, I can tonight. Currently on customer visit. Volhout P.S. Is colourcode off really different from colourcode on? I had imagined that the only difference is that the tiles do not change color, but stay black/white. Edited 2025-05-28 17:42 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

@Peter, Yes, that fixed it. Now the mouse cursor is correct on both colorcode ON and OFF. Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

G'day Peter, Hope you don't mind me asking this here. Can you please confirm the mouse functionality in the latest firmware versions is strictly VGA / HDMI and is not going to be extended to the parallel LCD panels? As Volhout mentioned, I didn't miss the mouse functions before, but now we have them its hard to go back. ![]() Looking at display options for a project and if the SSD1963 is still worth looking at, they are a good display but getting pricey and limited options for IPS etc. Thanks again for the time and energy you put into this project. Regards, Lyle. |

Yes They are great if you need speed but the physical displays tend to be old and poor viewing angles/brightness |

G'day Peter, Thanks for the clarification, I guess this means with the price and availability of HDMI TFT/IPS displays and the useful addition of the mouse functions in the HDMI firmware, these have become the better option. After a reasonable amount of searching, it would appear 1024x600 resolution has become fairly universal in 7"/8"/9"/10" (and some 5" and 12") LCD's in both TFT and IPS versions, even some "daylight readable / high brightness". With this in mind, assuming the RP2350/PicoMite is capable of generating HDMI at 1024x600 within the HSTX module, would you consider adding support for this resolution in a future version of the firmware? I realise you are just wrapping up 06.00.02 and I am in no way asking for it to be included in this. Thanks again. Regards, Lyle. |

Would be prepared to do this but have no idea what the parameters would be: back-porches, sync pulses, front porches as this isn't a standard resolution in any standard I'm aware of |

G'day Peter, Thanks for even thinking about it, must be looking forward to a well deserved break after getting 060002 so close to finished ![]() Time for me to do some home-work, I assume we need to know the parameters in relation to a known implementation (say 1024x768) for comparison. Any chance you can point me at what section of the source code sets up the HSTX module, if I know what I'm looking for it'll help. Regards, Lyle. Edited 2025-06-02 03:20 by mozzie |

How does that contribute to getting the firmware to display in 1024x600 format? |

Don't bother about it, Stan. I lost touch with programming ages ago. In fact, you are *way* ahead of me in graphics programming. :) It'll get a lot easier for the likes of us when the new manual is ready. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

It'll get a lot easier for the likes of us when the new manual is ready. :) I thought you were way ahead of me sir! I posted before mmbasic was dynamic...ephemeral, capable of change ie versatile . all great stuff but trying to keep up is getting more difficult... for me at least. I'm NOT moaning! The review of the new manual I started reading. noticed the simplified sound filter but I bought 5 chokes so using that circuit. what happens if you don't use a filter and just plug it into an amp.. with speakers...and tweeters? I'll leave it for the brainy guys and thank them very much. stan |
