Open one up and take a look.
It could well be based around a UC3907 or just a common voltage reference

I managed to change the voltage but I need to lower the amperage, is it possible?

It's not not possible to permanently lower current.

It is possible to control the current limit while the device is operating
by continually sending a canbus message that sets the output current limit.
