  matherp said  I'm not recommending the Pimoroni boards for any MMbasic uses. They won't overclock like the Pico2 and as you indicate the Plus is not physically compatible (and is expensive). When chips become available I will develop my own boards like I have for the RP2040.

TBH I rather like the idea of a standard PGA2350 as a super-IO chip on a I2C or RS-485 bus. All the IO that most people would need with some automatic handling built in. And no need to overclock it at all. :)
