I have a few (around 25) of the pic32mx470F512H-I/PT. Sending from Thailand takes about 10 days and costs 2US$. 8US$ for a single one 7$ for 5 or more. Microblocks. Build with logic. |

Wow, that's slow. I usually get my DigiKey orders next day. And I'm in the next country over. Unfortunately we don't have any immediate orders coming up or I would slip a few in. I'll have to settle with playing with Armite for a bit longer. Visit Vegipete's *Mite Library for cool programs. |

@Zonker Did you get your 5" and 7" TFT LCD SSD1963 displays working with the MM+ Explore64 ? Any hardware or software issues? |

I know I am not Zonker, but a 1963 5" screen arrived the other day, so I will hook it up and try it out, and post the results by the end of the day, with any luck. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

@MMAndy... Nope... I tried rechecking the wiring and then took a look at the soldering around the 470.... rewired it back up, but no go... Not sure whats going on... ![]() So, tonight, I tried hooking up the 2.4" touch unit (ILI9341) and it seems to be working fine... I tried a simple 2 button test and number box... All good... So, this weekend, I will build up the next Explore 64 board and try again... Will post the results... I also want to "hard build" the unit and not use all those jumper wires going from display to vector board... It should make things more stable... Somethings gota work... (could be something stupid I am doing)... I think the 7" units are going to be awesome..! ![]() |

My 7" display arrived today! While assembling the rats-nest out of an IDE cable, I did find a few errors in the documentation. The V3 schematic for the explore64 has an error - there are two pin 62's on the edge connector. Page 27 of the Micromite Advanced Features manual, T_DIN is shown connecting to pin 8. This should be pin 5. I used pin 18 for T_CS to avoid conflicting with the on-board SDcard. All other connections were as shown on page 27 of the Micromite Advanced Features manual. I had problems with the backlight - my soldering could be better. I tried "always on" to test then went back to "1963-PWM" for a second successful attempt. OK..! (finally)... I had to build up another Explore64, but got the 4.3" display to function normally... Sure is wired.. On the first module, I went back and tested every I/O line with an LED and all seemed to be functioning... the module seemed to be functioning correctly in every way... I not sure what it was.. It seemed to work OK with the SPI based 2.4" unit... Hummm.. Maybe, just a bad micro... Anyway, tomorrow we get out the 7" unit and run Geoff's Demo code..! Sweet.. Man..! This is going to be awesome..!!! ![]() Thank you Geoff and Grogster for making my day..!! ![]() |

I can send you the regs if you like - PM me. Otherwise, it is part # 1627177 at Element14. It is a SOT-223 package. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

@Grogster My fellow hackers are ready to kick your door down if you don't provide us your website so we can PURCHASE the already assembled and tested Micromite+ Explore 64 stamp module. ![]() |

I'm having a problem connecting my explore 64 to my computer. I programmed the chip OK but when I connect to the USB port I get the message found new hardware 'Micromite Plus' the new hardware wizard opens and appears to install the Silicon Chip Driver but comes up with an error. I have never had a problem connecting the 170s. Paul. "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |

@ MMAndy - I will be offering kits mainly, as I have a full-time day job, and don't really have the time to assemble a million modules. ![]() That would be different if I was not otherwise employed, but the time required to assemble a heap of modules would mean I would be working all day, and then assembling modules all night to keep up with initial demand, so.... ![]() @ palcal - what OS are you on? Win8? W10? The USB driver side of things is something Geoff needs to chime in with, cos he knows how all that side of things is coded - I will ask him to check this thread and see if he can help you. Normally, it just works - it did for me - go figure.... I have read that others have also had hiccups with the USB on the new module, and it is NOT the module, but rather the way that Windoze is trying to deal with the PID and the correct driver. 1st fight: Assembled the module. 2nd fight: Argue with Windoze. *sigh* There is a proven issue with W10 and the MM+ module's USB. Does not seem to be an issue in W8. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
