I managed to destroy the controller on my 7" TFT screen but the screen itself seemed OK. I disassembled the screen from the controller board and found the display model was a AT070TN92. Googling this found very cheap controller boards that turn the display into a monitor with VGA, HDMI, and AV inputs. Both the controller board and 7" 800x480 LCD display are available very cheap on ebay. They can also be bought as a unit (but for more money) The combination works very well both as an 800x480 HDMI display for the Pi-cromite and also in 640x480 VGA mode for the MMX. One problem is that the display flatflex wiring is very vulnerable so I designed and printed a box. STL print files are attached. The "spider" sits on the back of the screen and locates the main controller board. The control switch board mounts on the back and the switch extensions pass through the back. The stands hold everything together without any glue needed. 2018-05-29_175622_hdmi.zip ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For those interested my 3D printer is a homebuilt Prusa i2 mk2 clone |

This is about on the limit (size-wise) of what my printer can produce, but a VGA monitor for £25+PLA... too good to pass up. Thanks Peter, good work! |
