Yes when you compare specs to new H7 series.

http://au.element14.com/stmicroelectronics/nucleo-h743zi/dev-board-nucleo-144-cortex-m7/dp/2776646

But as a well established platform F4 series has lots of cheap boards and other support available. F4 is not shabby by any means.

Peter, when are you planning to release MMbasic firmware for STM Arm , will it be for new H7 only or do you intend to support F4 as well?

How could the differences between the F4 and F7 be solved in software.
Is it just including a different library or include files or does it need rewritting a bunch of stuff.

I would pledge to pay matherp $100US for a MM version which would run on this STM32F407ZET6 development board (while we're waiting for the beast he's looking at).

I understand that this is a ridiculously small amount for the effort involved, but perhaps others (some of whom have lobbied for a donation button) would also be prepared to join in.

It might be an incitement to begin a port he is already considering (and maybe has started on).

(Offer applies for any other more suitable STM32F board, like the NUCLEO-F767ZI mentioned.)

Won't run on the Acelex board - STM32F407ZET6 only has 512K Flash not 1Mb

Hi mather
I vote for STM32H7xx, if it were possible to consider the 100pin as well.
I think that start with 100pin, for hobbyists it is more practical to manage.
Thanks

If interesting platforms for porting the MicroMite to are being tossed around, then the PocketBeagle shouldn't be ignored. A bit pricier at US$25 but easily available from the likes of Mouser and Digikey, more I/O than a Raspi yet similar performance.
Visit Vegipete's *Mite Library for cool programs.

It looks NOT to use any STM32 chip so would almost certainly have very different I/O, interrupts etc and consequently require a major rewrite.

Supposedly ST make all the STM32 with almost the same I/O etc (I've not checked the recent chips but that was the case before them).

If so, then anyone wanting the PocketBeagle probably needs to do the work themselves (or find someone to do it).

Can't be a big job to adjust the flash size unless the code has grown rather larger than it used to be!

If we order 10 pcs of PCB, s at "MULTI-CP" in UK, will cost us 1pc. € 7,90! Only 1pc. unpopulated PCB.
A set of components (all parts purchased from Farnell.at) costs us about € 42 - 45.-

The cost of a finished, tested board I can not say that I would like to first discuss this with my friend (Erwin).

@ww
Yes, but I must still clarify with my friend and I will then tell it.

Wolfgang.

Hi Wolfgang

I have a very small project which your board would be perfect for.
Have y'all decided about supplying the new board to the public ?

mit besten Grüßen

Yes, what do you want, the Eagle files? I still have 3 fully equipped and tested boards. Unfortunately everything is a little bit more expensive in Austria and so a printed circuit board costs approx. 60.- Euro.

I get pretty much all my production done in China. I have tried a few but settled on https://jlcpcb.com/ - they are very cheap, but the quality is outstanding.

I am certain you'd eat a huge lump out of that 7.90 per pcb.Edited by CaptainBoing 2018-07-08

Hi Wolfgang

Am trying to avoid assembling PCB's at this time and I saw your boards are in the form of a completed device.

Is the 60 Euro for the PCB itself or the assembled, ready to run device?

Your board appears ideal because of its "small" sizing.

Hi Wolfgang

Thanks for getting back to me so fast.

For many Projects I work on board price doesn't really matter, so 60 Euro is OK. That's a similar cost to only about 1 to 1.5 hours project work, so if the board gets the job done faster then it pays for itself after a while. Thats a similar price to similar boards made here in the US, for example.

So now I am interested - is the board a 2 or a 4 layer PCB ? (viz. EMC evaluation).

Hi Ken !

It is a 2 layer PCB, manufactured according to European standards.

Hi again Wolfgang

Consulted with the client & they need to see 4-layer boards, unfortunately.
Will definitely buy some if it goes to 4-layer. Are y'all interested in pushing it toward 4-layers ?

If not, I may have to knock something together from here.

Cheers
