Hi All, I know this is most likely a Win10 issue, not MMedit. When I click the gear cog, it takes about 3 seconds to launch the DOS basic. Anyone know a solution. I know Win10 exhibits this behaviour elsewhere, like when you create say a calculator shortcut & assign Ctrl+Shft+C to it. Hit the keys & the calculator appears about 3 seconds later. More than slightly annoying.... Phil. |

It's Windows doing a security check. It used to be slow on the first opening then OK for the rest of the day but it seems to have got worse. It even happens to Microsoft applications. Someone will offer a solution - it starts with "Linux" Jim VK7JH MMedit |

Hi Jim, Yeah a Windows thing. I lost enthusiasm about a possible solution after a bit of a look about.... https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings-winpc/3-second-delay-when-using-shortcut-key -to-launch/034a9767-60d9-47c7-a7ae-747fe7f3853a Ctrl-Shft-C Calculator Ctrl-Shft-S Snippy Tool Ctrl-Shft-N NotePad++ Ctrl-Shft-T Teraterm Ctrl-Shft-D Device Manager They all jump up instantly on my Win7P PC. Setup the same on Win10 & it's wait 3 seconds. Phil. |

Hi Phil You need to open Windows Defender & put in an exclusion for Dos MMbasic. I had exactly this issue (mine took 20 seconds to open) & now opens instantly. Oh the joys of living with Microsoft... ![]() Cheers Brian P |
