Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I was sent a link for an online book that I have somewhere on a shelf. This book compared different BASIC dialects (at least from 1981).

The BASIC Handbook

I don't think that there is anything wanting in MMBasic.

That book is an old friend. Mine is upstairs in a box somewhere in the attic.

I always liked the combination PRINT @ x,y USING f$, a,b,c,d.

The FIELD 8 AS a$, 16 AS b$, .... was really handy if you were trying to manipulate database files is an abbreviated ISAM imitation.

I have that (2nd) edition as well as the third edition.
I prefer the format of the second edition.

Both on the shelf within arms reach.

I still have (and began using again with micromites) my old GWBasic manual (seem to work well enough with it to revitalise the old brain cells)

I couldnt believe how much I had forgotten when I started using it again
