Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

@palcal. That's a bit mean. I think Groggs is a bit more up to date than that.

It could be me.....

Don't worry, ChopperP - it's all in good fun.

Aussies and Kiwi's don't normally take any offence at this kind of banter - it is just poking the stick at the other, and we are well known for doing that to each other!

It takes more then that to offend me. I am a tradie after all. We are always poking fun at each other. The comments can get hilarious if you have done something wrong - the other tradies will not let you forget it!

Speaking of fun & banter.

It was good to see the Aussie T20 womens cricket team have a good win over the Kiwis this morning. (Gloat, gloat)

If only our mens teams could play as well. (No gloating)

I know you have a thick hide Groggs. Someone once told me to take some "Thick Hide" pills. I must have been whingeing or complaining about someone.

I used to be over-sensitive when I was younger. I soon learned that as a Human, you have to be able to laugh at yourself, as well as others. Everyone gets theirs at some point, and you have to be able to take it if you want to get on with other people. Especially if you are working with other tradies on a building site.

There ain't no room for 'Safe-spaces' in the trade. These new age kids coming on the scene wanting everything and everyone to protect their fee-fees are in for a hell of a shock if they ever enter the trade, cos tradies have no time for that bollocks.

Youse guys are getting my goat.

I think you're all weird because you're all upside down and spinning in the wrong direction.

I think I understand "poking the stick", but is a "tradie" a guy who runs a grocery store, does cricket really have any rules, what the heck are "fee-fees" and "bullock" is an antiquated term for "steer" but what the heck are "bollocks"????

Sorry Paul.

Sometimes this forum does use the local colloquialisms.

"Tradie" is short for any Trades-person. A man or woman who works in the primary trade industries - Plumber, Electrician, Builder, Painter, Gib-stopper(drywall for you), Carpet Layer, Window installer, Roofer, Welder etc...

Basically, any trade to do with building structures of just about any kind.

"Fee-fees" is a term used these days meaning someone's feelings. If you said: 'I don't care about your fee-fees', that translates to: 'I don't care about your feelings.' It's meant to sound sorta soft and fluffy as a little in-joke at those who easily have their feelings hurt or get offended by just about anything.

"Bollocks" - Balls. Testicles. 'He kicked me in the bollocks!'

I had a bit of a giggle about this
Quote  How do I use a Ford fht-c-0046 electric screwdriver? I am unable to find a start button or a place to insert a battery.

Answer.....
  Quote  um this one???

The one that says RATCHET screwdriver, not electric screwdriver…..

Instructions on using a ratchet screwdriver (Save electricity, electric free!!!!)

Push the Ratchet Tab Down

Hold the screw in position and put the tip of the bit into the screw head, making sure you have the correct size. There are three positions for the ratchet tab. To drive in a screw, push the tab down all the way, toward the blade, and start to turn. When your wrist has turned as far as it will go, twist the driver toward you. Only the handle will move back, not the blade. Continue driving the screw all the way home without expending the extra effort.

Pull the Tab up for Removal

To remove a screw, insert your bit into the head just like before, but this time, pull the ratchet driver's tab toward you, moving it all the way. Then, turn the handle counter clockwise. Keep going, utilizing the ratchet motion, until the screw is all the way out.

Use the Middle Setting for a Traditional Driver

As mentioned previously, there are actually three tab settings on this tool, so you're likely wondering by this time what the third does. The middle setting will keep the blade fixed so the device performs like a regular screwdriver. Once you’re used to the way a ratchet screwdriver operates and how easy it is to use, you might never use this setting, but it is still important to know about

Just to mention that here (& Oz?) bollocks can mean bullsh*t (or horsesh*t if you prefer).

Context is all :)

But of course the cruder reference is to the male anatomy.
