Display question

Can the 28 pin uMite drive the 3.2" ILI9341 display? I couldn't find any specific drivers posted anywhere.

(gets a bit confusing with all these different displays out there)

Hi Chopperp,

You should be a bit more specific in your question.

My 3.2" LCD:
I purchased an ArmiteF4 board and 3.2" display (320x240) with ILI9341.
That display cannot be driven from a 28 pinner since the PCB is configured for parallel control of the LCD (I think the pin to switch between 8 bit and 16 bit is accessible, but the pin to put it in SPI mode is not.

For the 28 pinner you need a ILI9341 that can be configured to SPI mode.

What resides, is checking the pins of the connector, to see what wiring is needed.

Volhout.

P.S. for someone in need of this specific 3.2" LCD, I can send it to you. PM me.
My Armite F4 (STM32F407VE board) is not running MMBASIC, so it can be binned.

@Volhout

Thanks for that. Makes sense.

I didn't realise that there was a difference or complications hence the vague question.

Mine's from the F4 board as well & I may be getting bigger ones.

I seemed to have killed a board as well when I accidentally cracked it's panel which still still displays (haven't tested the touch yet)

3 more sets arrived today after a bit of a delay. One programmed up & tested OK.

I have updated the LCD summary on Fruit of the Shed to show some more information on the various ILI9341 versions. Also started to add the ArmF4 info.

@disco4now

Nice website.... didn't know it existed.

Is there any system to keep it recent ?
I noticed the enigma.bas program listed on the site does not run anymore on MMBasic 5.04.08 for DOS. Some error message with array dimensions (line 359).

Regards,

Volhout

it is current but being a community-driven wiki, it only grows as fast as people add articles or update the existing ones.

It contains the original MMBasic library (from maximite) for completeness. There is a disclaimer where necessary that a particular piece of code may not run on later systems - "This module is part of the original MMBasic library. It is reproduced here with kind permission of Hugh Buckle and Geoff Graham. Be aware it may reference functionality which has changed or is deprecated in the latest versions of MMBasic.¶"

you could always get enigma working then post up a new version
