I'm using Maximite for quite a time, and I got used to it as to self sufficient computer. I can edit my program which is stored in RAM. I can run it from RAM. And when I'm done, I can save it to SD card (or to internal flash memory) under desired directory and file name. And I can have dozens of my programs. Super cool! I read many times that I should be aware of writing too often into Maximite internal flash memory because of limited write cycles. Flash memory will wear off quickly especially when using MOD play feature. So it's recomended to use SD card for storage, beacuse it has very big amount of write cycles. Just recently I went into Micromites, and I discovered much difference from Maximite. There is no directory/file structure in Micromite. You can have only one program and it is always stored to internal flash memory (not RAM) after each edit. And now I wonder, will Micromie flash memory wear off quickly if I edit and save my program too much times? And is there really that much difference of write cycles between Maximite falsh, Micromite flash and SD card? Edited 2019-09-28 16:27 by Cyber |

Saving your programs is not a problem. It is only if you are saving data every few seconds/minutes that you will run into difficulties. Jim VK7JH MMedit |
