If I understand correctly, you are looking for the USB driver?

I had the same problem and IIRC, it's the one at the bottom of this page.

without driver windows say  : ! Micromite Plus
with driver  windwos say    : microchip usb serial
i checked the port with all available bautrates but nothing.

What version of Windows are you using.
Windows 10 shouldn't need any external driver.
Windows 7 had problems with some updates. I don't have W7 any longer so don't know what the current situation is.

Many users of the explore64 find that it is much easier to use an external USB-TTL converter connected to the console pins. That is my preferred way of connecting.
This allows you to reset the explore module without having the USB failing.

Later explore boards use a 'microbridge' USB-TTL converter built into the board. They have the added advantage of being able to update the firmware without needing a pickit3

If you board has the original USB, the baud rate shouldn't matter.
If it has the microbridge or an external converter, the usual baud rate is 38400

Oh heck, I seem to remember having another issue but I actually called Phil Boyce, in a panic and he set me straight.

Can't think what it was now but it was something different about the newer boards.

Hallo.

What version of explore-64 PCB do you have?

1B?
1C?
1D?

It's on the bottom of the module.

1A was prototype and green, you probably don't have that one.
1B was green and first release after the 1A had been tested and anything fixed.
1C was green and was just a revision of 1B to tidy some track layout etc.
1D was blue, and had the holes for the optional Microbridge daughterboard.
1D2 was blue, and a revision of 1D.
1E was orange(factory called it Yellow), and had the 1455 Microbridge chip on the bottom.
1F is the orange and the current version, and is a revision of 1E.

1A, 1B, 1C & 1D all use the internal PIC32 USB stack for the USB connection, and required the USB drivers on some machines.

1E and 1F use the 1455 Microbridge IC on the bottom, and do away with the ICSP holes as the 1455 can be used to program the PIC32, so those holes were not needed.  These versions also do NOT connect the PIC32 USB pins to the USB socket - the 1455 Microbridge chip sits in between the USB socket and the PIC32.

The Microbridge does not need any drivers for Windoze 10 or Linux.
Many Windoze 8 machines with recent updates also see it without needing drivers.
Windoze 7 and XP need drivers, and that driver can be downloaded from my website HERE.

It is the very first item at the top - the E28 Windows driver files.  The 1455 chip is pretty much now standard on all new Micromite designs, so this driver will also work on just about any new Micromite board from anyone, cos the 1455 chip has become standard.  Pretty much.

Hi,
In addition to Jim and Grogs' advice (if it hasn't worked already) try connecting your USB cable directly to the PC and not to a USB hub. This makes all the difference for me.

Cheers,

Andrew
