Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

it certainly is pretty neat - i'd be interested to see if one could be bought (at a sensible price) without the 'experimenters board' that sits under the keyboard.

with RPi's now coming with onboard bluetooth, it is practical to build a Pi laptop with just wiring for power and HDMI routed within the case. this means the four USB ports and ethernet can stick out one side.

it looks like you can also get RPi tophats that support SATA drives, providing for storage beyond the onboard SD card for those who need it.

my 'ideal' RPi laptop would be netbook sized, 11" LCD, with the majority of the case filled with 16450 cells (user replaceable, in individual holders) providing enough juice to keep the machine running for days at a time.

i'd also like to see some way of nicely making a standard netbook about 1/2 an inch thicker, the extra space holding additional cells. take a look at an 11" HP stream, with a 3D printed 'extender' somehow sandwiched between keyboard and base.

cheers,
