... but the shipping time will be extra to the Backorder-Delay!

No idea what the particular delay is, I will order when they are actually available!

Just imagine that WhiteWizzard is not responding to any of these issues because he is too busy currently doing all the SMD-soldering!

... or he is still waiting for some parts or a final Firmware ....

He is alive at least, as he did change the description of the machine on his website. When I ordered, it was with uncut Panels and the option of cut Panels sent to customers when available. Meanwhile it reads "complete with pre-cut Front and Rear panels". So that alone was worth the wait.

Yep, I also recognized that ... so the panels apparently are not the cause anymore.

Hope he is still alive after having done that.

Be patient, he's a good guy, very helpful and very communicative. If there is a delay then I'm sure that the reason is very good.

No doubt about that.

Being not alive generally is a very good reason and causes delay!

I found WhiteWizzard to be tremendously helpful, and his service was very very fast.  I must have got in early, whilst he still had stock.  Also I am in the Uk.

My "v3 PCB kit" was Ordered/paid on 24th June ... arrived lunchtime on the 26th June via Royal Mail.

The front and rear panels came later as they had not arrived in stock from the factory.  I received those on 11th July.

The Waveshare and headers were also quick arriving from the ebay seller in China I mentioned in an earlier post/thread.

When he telephoned me following on from an email enquiry, he did mention that things were going crazy over at micromite.org as there was a very great deal of interest for CMM2's

I am sure he will get your order to you as soon as humanly possible.

Primarily, it is delays caused by super-slow freight due to the virus.  I also have a long order queue of people waiting.  The boards I have, but I am still waiting on some of the other bits - switches and right-angled I/O headers along with the vertical USB-A socket.  I have pretty much everything else.

Even if you use DHL, it still takes about a week for the DHL delivery, and if you DON'T get international courier(IE: just standard airmail), I have found that currently the delivery time from New Zealand to Australia is about one month on average, 4-6 weeks to everywhere else.  There is nothing anyone can do about that, other then to ship via the likes of DHL, and that STARTS at about US$50 per package from here in NZ to anywhere else, and so that kind of shipping cost is prohibitive and essentially impractical for 99.9% of customers.

If the virus was not around the world, things would be MUCH speedier, but the virus has DRASTICALLY affected mail and freight delivery times - right around the entire planet.

I have one on order with you, I ordered it with the standard shipping, would it be possible to upgrade to DHL by paying the difference?

Sure.

Send me an email and we can arrange.  I was talking with the guy at the post-office today, and they can send via EMS for US$20 to Australia, US$36 to USA or US$38 to UK, but that at least gets you a tracking number, and is only about 5-10 bucks more then untracked airmail, so.....  The shipping cost changes depending on where you send it to with EMS, so that makes it hard to state a fixed shipping figure on the website.

Or the more expensive DHL for US$50 to Australia, US$95 to UK or USA - $144 PER PACKAGE in my money for those last two via DHL out of NZ.  Bloody expensive!
Actually, pretty much rip-off prices IMHO....

Convert NZ$144.88 into USD and you get US$95.36 -

I think I will put up EMS shipping as an option on the website though.  It is something of a compromise.  I think many would go for the EMS method, as then at least I can flick all customers a tracking number when I send a unit out.  This also makes me happier, if I can find an affordable way to do that.  I don't know that EMS is really much faster then airmail at the moment, but you do at least get a tracking number, so there is that.

EDIT:
@ Carnifex: I guarantee you won't want to pay US$95 for the DHL option.  Flick me an email anyway, cos Rob(CircuitGizmos) is also selling these units, and is based in USA, so I could cancel your order, refund you, and you could buy from him instead if you like.  I don't know what Rob's stock levels are like, or his demand.  All three of us(Me, Phil and Rob) are snowed under with orders I think!

I've also gone the route of diy now. Still no word from micromite.org.
Just waiting on the waveshare headers and waveshare board.
When I eventually get the assembled version, I'll have one of each, so I'll be able to test whatever on either if need be. Guess that's a bonus in the end lol

For all those not being especially keen on the CMM2 but wanting to start with MMBASIC and Electronics (and not coloured Games) I can recommend to get a Duinomite mini, being a very good practical substitute for the original Monochrome-Maximite and most important ... quite easy to get ... ready to plug & play!

GET HERE

also look up
HERE
and HERE

Even parallelly and especially for Electronics still a good choice!

OK everyone - I AM alive AND I do have lots of stock of ALL parts including the Front and Rear panels.

The reason people are experiencing a delay is down to ultra high volumes of orders. I have taken in extra staff to assist with this sudden surge.

My focus has been on training staff to help assist, and to process orders in the sequence they are received.

Please ignore the words ‘BackOrder’ on the website. You simply join the queue when you place an order and we promise that we WILL get to your order as soon as is possible.

Many people have emailed me asking about timescales of ETA but this is not easy to give an accurate answer. Currently it is about a 3week waiting time for despatch on current processing capability BUT it does depend on how many new orders come in each day. ETA then depends on global postal services (and they are still playing catch-up with their unusually large volumes during the pandemic).

Also note that the more people who email me asking ‘where is my order?’, then the more time I am not despatching orders. So I am generally ignoring emails so that I can get more shipments despatched.

So please be patient if you are still waiting For your CMM2(s) - and for those many of you that have received your unit(s) then I hope you’re having lots of fun.

And a big thanks to all the positive feedback I get each and every day - it is great to hear what you are using your CMM2s for.

Now back to shipping another batch........

Stay Safe everyone!
