Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Apologies if it's previously asked question, I couldn't see a searchbar or anything similar in the first few pages of topics.

Anyhow, I was wondering if it's ever likely to be possible to compile code and execute binaries, or is the basic interpreter the only way to use it?

You can compile using various tools (gcc is a particularly handy tool and free) and can do it with or without MMBasic.

Another way would be to get the MMBasic source and use parts of it to do something very different (if you wish) but bear in mind its licence.
