Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

[EDIT] Actually, looks like the waveshare version has the same layout for the screw holes so should work for both.  If I'm wrong, someone please let me know.

I received my CMM2 board from Circuit Gizmos last week -- Thanks, Circuit Gizmos!

At the time, I found the STL files in Geoff's Construction pack zip file for the front/rear panels, but the cases they were meant to mount in from the US suppliers were showing out of stock...  I searched through the forum here looking for anyone else already publishing a 3D printable case and didn't find anything.

Challenge Accepted!  I didn't want to wait for their shipping anyway!

I put together a 3D printable case and uploaded the STL files over on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4553800

Hope some of you find it useful.

Thanks for the excellent community around this project -- I hope to contribute more in the future.

I’m surprised nobody else has posted a thank you note yet, so here’s one from me.

I haven’t printed this case yet but will do so I the near future as I have no access to any other decent case for it.

It has been done before.

and yes, both the all-in-one and module/motherboard versions use the same case and panel cutouts so your design should be good for all.

Thanks Jim, not sure why my searching didn't find Doug's case.  Would've saved me some time...

I guess there are a couple options now...

I too looked for 3D printed options for my brand new CCM2. I didn't see the first one but I did get Shadamus's design on thingivers.

This is a rework of the front panel STL provided by the Colour Maximite 2 (CMM2) team in their Construction Pack zip file (get it from the bottom of Geoff's Maximite page
https://geoffg.net/maximite.html
).

The back panel for the case can be found at the above link. I did not chnage anything on it.

I reworked the front panel by combing the graphics files with the supplied front panel .stl so that the text could be extruded and printed a different color. I also changed the SD label of the the SD read light to say Disk because it thought it was more desctriptive and harkens back to the days of 80s era computers.

When I printed it, the resolution of my printer could not pick up all of the small diagonal lines of the MaximMite logo. I might redo it at some point, but I thik it looks cool anyway. If you want to try a highier resolution printer, see print settings.

The rest of the case (sides, mounts, etc) come from the excellent design of Shadamus.

I like the surface finish on top, was that a special setting?

Thanks. That textured look comes from the surface of the printed bed itself. So, you can only get it on the surface that touches the build plate.

I love it. I have completely redesigned parts so that the prominent surface prints on the textured bed.

I have a Prusa MK3s printer.

Looks very nice!

I did my prints in black PLA, so the resulting case isn't very photogenic...
