Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

matherp said  VG version is fine - just twice the FLASH. However there is something very suspicious about the pricing of these chips. Check this out and compare with a unit price of $10.51 from ST direct in volumes up to 500. The pricing of the VET board seems more possible - cheaper chip on a board that sells for more and made in huge volumes

YEAH...

lizby said  Here's what the chip looks like, but I don't know what it might tell me:

Looking at the markings the chip is from week 48 from 2019. That is totally possible.
I only hope the "e3" marking does not imply these are engineering samples.
See below (this is the marking of an LPC176 package, so the 100pin will have different markings).

I think e3 is a JEDEC mark (for Sn, i.e. tin)

FWIW, yesterday I found the two of these "alternate" F4 boards which I had hidden away after having troubles with them. I flashed with ArmmiteF4V5.07.00b14.bin and for the limited amount of testing I did, they seemed fine.

With the maturity of MMBasic on the bigger F4 board, and the prospects of the PicoMite, I don't expect to do anything further with these boards.

These smaller form factor boards seem to do everything the bigger ones can. The latest F4 manual (Draft 3) covers them.
