I am way behind every one else but it took me some months to convince myself to buy a kit. I don't play computer games but thought what the heck.
Everything fired up OK, got steady banner on the screen and keyboard OK.
So I tried to load a program but can't connect to GFX_term or MMedit.
The CMM2 shows up in device manager as COM5 and working OK I have the baud rate set to 115200 but can't connect. I flashed a new 1455 and still no go. In GFXterm all I get is abot 3/4 line of garbage and MMedit says can't find device.
Any ideas

If it's a hardware fault I'm not sure, so I'm going to give other suggestions.

Can you use Tera Term? Just asking because that's what I've used, but it may have the same problem.

You're plugged in with the USB-A to USB-B connection right? (and not the USB-A to USB-A)

Are the other serial settings correct apart from 115200 baud? 8 data bits and one stop bit. They were correct by default when I tried in Tera Term, I only had to set the 115200.

I have the correct connection, I could see no way in MMedit or GFXterm to set the data and stop bits. I'll download Tera Term

It's OK, I didn't have the date and time set, I don't have a battery yet. But I set it and all OK.
Thanks

In MMEdit, make sure that you select CMM2 syntax.
If not, you will not be able to upload programs.

@ TassyJim
I just downloaded the latest version of MMedit 3.8.1 but it does not have CMM2 syntax.
