Hey guys, I finally got my switch. Just to be sure, I remove the wire that bridges the two holes and solder the pins of the switch into the PCB (see picture)? I am ok with a soldering iron, but I just don't want to mess this up. Thanks, Mike |

Mike, I can't see the picture, but "yes" - the switch needs to replace the "always on" jumper that came pre-installed on your PCB. I used an old push-on / push-off switch I had lying around, and it happens to illustrate the point perfectly! Edited 2020-09-08 10:28 by jpusztai Enjoy Every Sandwich / Joe P. |

Are there any versions of that switch where up is on? Visit Vegipete's *Mite Library for cool programs. |

Not that I'm aware of. Honestly, you get used to it pretty quickly... |

I have come to accept and appreciate down for on - for this particular application. Fitting for something invented down under. ;-) Visit Vegipete's *Mite Library for cool programs. |

Do any of you know how to switch the vegimite port to peanut butter? Honestly, I did think the battery was faulty because the date was always wrong. Then I realized it had to be read Day Month Year instead of Month Day Year. :) |

G'day Mike, Another one from down-under here. Re the date, how about you try with the battery in up the other way? Cheers, Andrew |

Hi Another "switch" related question. Preassembled CMM2 To make life easier for my target audience of teachers, is there anything "wrong" with replacing the jumper that we move to flash the ROM with a SPDT switch? In theory, what I want to achieve is an outside the box switch that one way is "run" - ie normal operation and the other way is "flash" so that the device can be upgraded. I have wired this up and it works fine for running / flashing. If the device was accidentally moved to "flash" setting - but was otherwise set up to use (ie keyboard and power) -- are there any negative consequences? Reluctant to try in case I fry as they say.... Nim Entropy is not what it used to be |

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you are talking about ... Hmm, I'm sure it is a switch on mine. Anyway you don't need it, search the manual for "UPDATE FIRMWARE", this performs the "switch" in software until the next reset/reboot. Best wishes, Tom MMBasic for Linux, Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

Ok -- software switch is good. I should learn RTFM.... Nim I think yours must be an all in one board whereas mine has the Waveshare module and the switch is on the module.
