I tried to post this on the most recent thread and it fails with an error. EDIT But this works so just a glitch I guess. Edited 2020-12-10 14:55 by mclout999 |

When you get a error, I need the error message so I can look into it. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

atal error: Uncaught PDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1366 Incorrect string value: '\xEF\x82\xB7 Th...' for column 'Message' at row 1 in C:\inetpub\wwwroot2\TheBackShed\forum\PostMessage.php:59 Stack trace: #0 C:\inetpub\wwwroot2\TheBackShed\forum\PostMessage.php(59): PDO->exec('Insert into thr...') #1 {main} thrown in C:\inetpub\wwwroot2\TheBackShed\forum\PostMessage.php on line 59 here it is. I am also looking at the forum listing and it says 6 responses but I can only see the original post. Maybe it is my browser. EDIT: the post is headed " CMM2: COM 3 OPTION CONSOLE SCREEN Bug?" I am going to flush my cache and reload the page because I still can not see any of the 6 reported responses. Edited 2020-12-10 15:06 by mclout999 |

I concur. The post I made about a COM3 bug says 6 replies but I don't see any except my initial post. Jay Crutti: Ham Radio Operator, K5JCJ. Computer Enthusiast. Musician. Engineer. |

I tried to post that the post that the "OPTION CONSOLE SCREEN" seem to be behaving as it should be and stoping echoing to the PC and freeing up COM3. See manual page 15 If this posts it was the excerpt from the manual that was killing it because I just tried to post it here and it did the same thing. |

I appreciate that but I'm not trying to echo/control the CMM2 with the PC. I'm running a terminal program on the CMM2 and trying to communicate with another terminal program running on the PC. Jay Crutti: Ham Radio Operator, K5JCJ. Computer Enthusiast. Musician. Engineer. |

I think you are pasting a unicode character that the forum doesn't like. Copy from word documents and PDfs etc will often have nasty non-ASCII characters to bugger up code and it looks like the forum as well. RE the original COM3 issue: Some example code showing the problem might help. Jim VK7JH MMedit |

If you were copy and pasting from the CMM2 manual paragraph on 'The Serial Console', I expect that the culprit was the bullet points towards the end. They translate to a HEX 00 or HEX 95 character depending on what I paste into. Jim VK7JH MMedit |

You may be on to it Jim. Copy/paste from some documents can include a heap of hidden characters that the forum doesn't know how to process. When you paste, by right clicking, you have the option of "Paste as plain text". I would be curious to see if that works for those having issues. I'll look into the incorrect post counter. To that end, I repost the section of the manual(page 15) I was trying to post with the as plan text below, and if it posts then we know that is the best way. EDIT: Just pasting as plan text DID NOT WORK. I did delete the 2 outline charactors and let's see if that works. |
