I realized I can't hold in my head all various MMBasic solutions when it comes to choose one for a new project. So I compiled a list for myself (both official and third party titles). I know I'm mixing here platforms with form factors, but I wanted a complete picture. And also in some cases I'm dubious whether it's a different platform or just different form factor of same platform. Anyway, I thought this list might be helpful for others. And if you know title I missed, please tell me, I'll add it to list. Or may be somebody compiled similar list? Micromite line -------------- Micromite (and Mk2) (28-pin, 44-pin) (abbr. You forgot one that everybody is very silent about: ELLO-2M (a kickstarter project few years ago) Based on a CMM1 platform that was apparently not done with Geoff's approval. This may have been a commercialization and infringement of licenses. A complete laptop build out of PCB's with TFT and experimenters area. If this had been done properly, everyone would have loved to own one. And I actually still would, despite it's shortcommings. I only had doubts with the way the keyboard worked. If you're mentioning CircuitGizmo's excellent boards, you might also mention those by grogster (micromites , especially the Explore-28 module) and BigMik's Mup_V3, backpack 170, and others. Also Whitewizard's stuff (although he seems to be swamped with CMM2 orders now). For the Armmite F4, this module works for me: STM32F407VET6 For the pi-cromite, lew247 has found that this version of stretch: https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_lite/images/raspbian_lite-2019-04-09/2019-04-08-raspbian-stretch-lite.zip Works with a version of MMBasic, but I don't have a link to where it is found on the shed. ~ Edited 2020-12-16 00:10 by lizby PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

Thank you! I forgot about this one. And also this reminded me about another one: http://propellerpowered.com/the-micromite-companion/ So here goes: Micromite line -------------- Micromite Companion Maximite line ------------- 8 colours versions: ELLO 2M Too bad I can't edit first post. |

Thank you! I totally forgot about BigMik's stuff, though just recently visited his site. And I think I missed lots of Grogsters's stuff, though Explore-28 looks familiar. Also I need to review Whitewizard's stuff. For some reason I thought he provides the same boards that mentioned on Geoff's site. Speaking about Armmites and Pi-cromites, I havn't got much time to dig into them. I still don't understand very well, what Arm & Pi boards there currently exist that can actually be flashed with MMBasic. |

As far as I know, all pi boards flashed with the Stretch version of Raspbian that I linked to will work. About the 12th post in this thread may have the latest stretch release. I've used mostly pi-0Ws. Aside from the F4 boards I linked to, the ST Nucleo boards work with the Armmite H7 and Armmite L4. Search thebackshed for "Armmite H7" and "Armmite L4" in the subject ("all" words, not "any"). H7 Nucleo board Armmite - STM32H7: Nucleo 144 backpack H7 backpack Armmite H7: Full release & documentation H7 release L4 Nucleo board There's also a larger L4 Nucleo board. I don't recall any of the details, but I think there were two or three different Duinomites. Grogster's Explore64, etc. Peter's TFT Backpack. CircuitGizmos Sensor.Engine:MICRO ![]() docs.37sensors.com Edited 2020-12-16 04:07 by CircuitGizmos Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

lizby, thank you for info! CircuitGizmos, I didn't grasp that Sensor.Engine MICRO is a self sufficient MCU with MMBasic. I thought it is just an interface board to use between MCU and sensors. Thank you for clarifying! And thanx for other hints. BTW, I own TFT Backpack, but for some reason forgot about it. |

CircuitGizmos, I didn't grasp that Sensor.Engine MICRO is a self sufficient MCU with MMBasic. Yup! It is a '170 paired with a little LCD display, three buttons, and an SD card. The top row of connections can be populated "pins up" and jumpers used to connect to various sensor modules. Can also be populated "pins down" and inserted into a solderless breadboard. These have been used for a STEM class and robotics class. ![]() Edited 2020-12-16 05:04 by CircuitGizmos Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

zeitfest, thank you! There are more boards than I expected. I'm also confused about this "MkII" note near "Micromite" sometimes. Seems like Mk2 was some improvement for Micromite, but I can't find any info about what was improved and what is the difference from not-Mk2... |

MkI micromite used the MX150 chip MkII uses the MX170 which has more memory and a few other improvements. The latest firmware that runs on the MkI is 4.5 Jim VK7JH MMedit |

Thank you! You made it clear. Though I should've more carefully read the manual. :) |

Peter has produced several designs, mostly for backpacks to supplement and test his earlier TFT display drivers, and often with additional chips and connevtivity options. I use this one Universal Backpack for setting up projects. If you search the forum using 'matherp' as the author, and 'backpack' as the searchword in the 'Subject' field, you will find several examples. Peter does not produced commercial quantities of boards, usually just a dozen or so for each design and has offered surplus boards to forum members - which are usually snapped up pretty quickly. He does provide the documentation and Gerbers for those wanting to make additional boards. Greg |

I ordered a bunch of PCBs, played with a few, sold about 10, and gave away the rest. ![]() Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

Don't forget Peters Hat Stands. I have been using modified versions of them for my controllers using 3.5" and 4" LCDs with my array of I/O boards I call pants. GOOD TIMES |
