Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Works as an SDcard but as soon as you use WIFI stops working as an SDcard and never works again without removing replacing. WebDAV implementation itself is unreliable and probably beyond the scope of the ESP8266 to implement properly |

I use for transfering and backup my files from CMM2 Napoleon commander by Jirsoft. Connect to PC over wifi ESP8266 (need modem firmware from same source). Transfer speed is over 600kbit and stable. PC working as server and python script can run on all platform. I writing in CMM2 internal editor (sometime is uncomfortable look to other files or .inc), but i like too much this simple world CMM2. After almost 30 years as software developer is for me work with CMM2 similar as relax on fishing. |

That sentiment sums up exactly why the CMM2 platform works for me on all levels. Nim Entropy is not what it used to be |

Plasma, Dennis in Germany has just developed another version of WEBdav on ESP8266 It does not support SD Cards, it gives only access to ESP internal storage with LittleFS German WEBdav Project Github Page Maybe you donate your module to him and if he likes the challenge he could add the function to access the SD card with a FAT Filesystem I am happy to share the cost with you if this works out I still think this WEBdav enabled SD Card would be a nice addition for many embedded systems and other devices like 3D printers With the high endurance SD card I mentioned in the Armmite thread, even regular information exchange should not be an issue |

Most 3D Printers can already use WIFI enabled SD cards, or have the ability to use it if they can update to the Marlin firmware. I'm not sure what the differences are between the 3D printer controllers and the SD card unit hardware, and how it's setup on the CMM2. Here is a link to an instructable for getting the Marlin fireware to utilize WIFI on SD cards. It's under STEP 2 in the instructions. https://www.instructables.com/3D-Printing-Over-SD-Card-Wi-Fi-Hack/ |

That code, while it may work, is just nonsense. Sending data to an SPI device when chip select is high makes absolutely no sense and to me shows the wifi cards are not fit for purpose |

Peter noted recently in the Armmite thread: This means that the SD-Wifi mechanism may not work there at all ?? As far as I remember, it intercepts only the SPI access method I do not know what Mites use SDIO vs SPI for SD access ? Same may apply for other SD based devices |
