able to solder? and would be willing to solder some boards for me?
I have 3 projects I need soldering, I tried to do it myself but completely messed up one board, made a pigs ear of the 2nd and gave up after the 3rd try.

EDIT: thanks to all but this is sorted now

I am located in Netherlands, and I am willing to assemble these boards for you.
Due to Brexit your shipping may not be fast, but we are only few 100 miles appart...

Hi

In the UK, but not the neatest (ie self taught)

Never used their services but https://active8studios.co.uk/soldering-services a friend did a couple of years ago.

YMMV

The only thing I *might* have any problem with would probably be U5 on the weather station board. I'm not brilliant at the very small SMD parts yet. Otherwise, no problem. I'm in Leyland, Lancs if that's ok.

I'm not going to take money off you to help a fellow shedder out, send them to me if you like and I'll get them back to you next working day. Only looks like an hour or two's work.

I am in Buckinghamshire

PM me if you need to

Yay!  :D
My regular local used to be The Gables, but that's many moons ago. I've never been in the Market Ale House and I only live near the Queens!

I really must get more SMD soldering practice in. Trouble is, I keep getting diverted by other things like the CMM2...

I see that there are very inexpensive SMD practice kits on eBay. I was thinking of buying some for a friend to hopefully spark some interest. It's frustrating that every youngster seems to believe that they need to attend some form of schooling to learn such things.

We could really do with a local MCU club, focused on MMBasic (and Propeller ).

I am scheduled to meet with "On Board" in Darwen. It's a family run PCB house with all the right equipment.

I doubt that the pricing will be hobbyist friendly which is not an issue for me but I'll keep you informed

Mine is sitting on a shelf, taunting me, along with 11 other MCU modules that I have yet to power up

I would just get sucked right in but I need to get my MX170 product in production. Only a few issues left to iron out.

I started with one of the ebay practice kits. Resistors & caps aren't too bad (but I find the tiny ones really fiddly - do you know how far a SMD component flies when you hear your tweezers go "ping!"? I think it's in metres, in inverse proportion to the distance between the connections).

My CMM2 moved into it's new house (case) today and I printed the manual out. I swapped the LEDs for blue and yellow because everything posh has blue LEDs. :)

Once it's settled down in it's new building - and when it's allowed - I'm thinking of going to the Preston Hackspace.

Bluetack/Whitetack is what I use for both thru-hole and SMD component soldering.
I even use it for sticking the completed board to the desktop for testing. Works a treat.

Ah Hackspace; I have searched and searched for something like this. Could be a good home for my surplus

That really made me smile, I was soldering smd components with hot air and smd rework machine back in 1993 and I was almost half way to pension age then
I really thought I'd be able to do it with a decent magnifier and hot air gin or miniature soldering iron tip but my hand eye coordination really is much worse than I even want to think aboout admitting.

Did you tackle the Sinclair Black Watch kit?
Man, I melted my first one but they replaced it for free. That was a challenge for a kid but I ended up doing a really nice job and got roped in to building a couple more for schoolmates.

You can't beat a good hot air gin whilst doing SMC soldering
