Hi folks, Is there much crossover between this forum and the "Electronics" one? I don't seem to see the same names and I find my posts there less likely to get commented on. TBH at least 50% of the conversation seems to be about inverters so it looks like it might not have a generic "electronics" focus? Anyway this is all just a conversational way of saying I posted a question about what glue I should consider for mechanically attaching SMD components to PCBs when there are no solder pads and if anyone could see there way to answering it I would appreciate it ![]() Best wishes, Tom MMBasic for Linux, Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

Hot melt glue can be used provided wires are soldered on first. Hold the device in a wooden clothes peg with one terminal sticking out a little then solder on some thin enameled wire. Repeat for the other pins. Stick it in place with a dot of glue. 5 min. epoxy also works but repositioning is difficult. |

Thanks Phil, I'm not sure my fine needlework is up to that without the component stuck down first but I will give it a go Best wishes, Tom Edited 2021-06-05 16:16 by thwill MMBasic for Linux, Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |
