On CMM2, I am a late adopter. Few weeks ago received my unit, I actually ordered it to be able to compete next year in the competition. Last weekend spend some time with the welcome tape and some games on CMM2. First of all: I take my hat of for the thwill: the welcome tape is a very nice initiative. Also thwill's "game of life" is an example for newcomers (and old chaps like me) how to bring structure in a program. The content of the welcome tape was well balanced and examplatory for many fields of interest. I played some games (i.e. Chemichaos, Wolfenstein) and I am impressed what is possible with this single chip basic computer. And the language has so many commands and options, it will take time to master them. I want to express my deep respect to all those who made this possible. Especially to Peter for his never-ending energy to improve to perfection. Thank you all Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

I guess we're obligated now @bigmik ![]() Thank you. For the record the "Game of Life" implementation on "The Welcome Tape" was initially written by @Turbo46 before @TassyJim and I had a good mess about with it: https://www.thebackshed.com/forum/ViewTopic.php?TID=12091 Best wishes, Tom Edited 2021-06-07 23:29 by thwill MMBasic for Linux, Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |
