Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi,

I got fed up with NP++ not showing line numbers each time I used it. The setting would not stick between uses. It also came up in a full window which was also a bit annoying.

I decided it was time to do a bit of a search & found that if NP++ is run As Administrator (right click on the *.exe file) & the settings set (particularly, display line numbers & also the opening window size) they will stick even when reopened in normal mode.

Much better now. Line numbers show in a smaller window when opened. (so far anyway)

We must have different installations. My Notepad++ has never had problems remembering to use line numbers.

Hi Jim

I think it might depend on where you have NP++ installed on your drive.

Some comments I read say to install it directly onto the C: drive to avoid any admin problems. Mine's in the x86 folder.

I have never had any previous problems with it before the latest upgrade.
