Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I have the Wi-Fi module installed but have no idea how to connect the CMM2 Gen 2 to a Wi-Fi network or even a terminal program running on a PC over Wi-Fi. I know how to open COM2: on the CMM2 but that's it. Also, the manual alludes to available firmware to let the Wi-Fi module run as a console port but doesn't specify where to get it or how to do it. Does anyone have any examples of any of the above? Thanks!

EDIT--- Senior moment! I had forgotten that I already asked this question before. If you answered in that thread, please ignore this one!

OK, I can see that there is firmware out there that makes it much easier to connect to the Internet or at least a WiFi router. Now my question is: Can I program the ESP-01 once it's soldered into the Gen 2 CMM2? If so how do I connect to it do do that?

Don't solder, use a socket.

Now you tell me!   Well, it's already soldered in there.

Hmmm... if it doesn't work you're in the wet and smelly then!

(Mick detects the smell of de-soldering tools...)
