Dear fellow members, Do any of you know what happened to CAN bus support ? I own a CMM1 (CGcolormax2) and in it's documentation there is hardware support and software support for CAN bus. However, in the MMBasic 4.5c manual the CAN command is not listed, and (I tried) the command does not exist in MMBasic 4.5c (the most recent version for the CMM1). Did the CAN command only exist in earlier MMBasic versions ? Or did Circuit Gizmo have a proprietary MMBasic version that includes the CAN command ? Is the CAN command removed to make room for other functions/commands. Regards, Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Thanks Bill, In the ZIP file there is some additional information. Also reference to a special version of the chip needed. The PIC32MX795F512L. I will check what is on my board, but I guess it is that type. Funny, in the CMM1-CAN-bus ZIP file I downloaded there is embedded a ZIPPED user manual for the CMM2 for MMBasic 5.05. Maybe Geoff should look at that and correct it. Guess not many people look at CMM1 these days, so this can be undetected for ages. I am actually quite surprised. The CMM2 is less than 2 years old, and CMM1 version 4.5 hasn't been changed for 4 years. How is it possible that inside a 4 year old document, more recent data is embedded. Maybe Geoff fixed something but then accidentally added that manual. John |

Thanks for the heads up. All the various Maximites share the same download directory, my guess is that I accidently dropped that directory into the zip while I was cleaning up after the CMM2. Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

I'm also a CAN user so would very much like a version that can support this. Gen1 Honda Insights. |
