MMBasic land is big so not all is under water.
For the people who are, it is the third time this year.

I have a nephew who is in the middle of it (but not under water).
He is an atmospheric scientist so it is probably one of his experiments gone wrong.

Hi Plasma, All,

No Rain here, figuratively or actually. Although it threatens my, albeit poor, weekly golf game.

A bit further North and the country is being flooded down the drain.

I know you were asking Re. MMBasic et al. But Hey.

How is it in Germany?

We are cut off with the two bridges that let us off the hill under for the third time this year. We are up high so just the inconvenience of not getting to Richmond, but for those on the river the third time they have been under this year.

With constant rain outside, plenty of no guilt computer time.

Here in Newcastle I have recorded 256mm (10in in the old scale) in the last 3 days,  and it is still raining.  I lost a large branch of a gum tree, fortunately missed the house.

Evening All,
Just to give some perspective of the size of Aus. the flight time Sydney to Perth, not quite the maximum East-West distance, is over 5 hours. Melbourne to Darwin, about the max. North-South distance (not including Tasmania - sorry Jim) is 4.5 hours.

Its been bucketing down in Sydney and Melbourne has just had a lovely sunny day.

(Now back to my weather station code . . .)

Having been almost flooded once (water was up to the front doorstep) and actually flooded (water was about 1/3 up the interior walls) I really feel for those who have to go through several floods. :(  It's scary, watching your carpets start to ripple and float in spite of the sandbags at your doorways.  :(

I was watching a news report on the floods in Sydney only about an hour ago. There was an interview with a family who have been flooded out several times. Terrible situation to be in. :(

As it happens, up here in (almost) sunny Lancashire, UK it's nice and dry at the moment with not much rain forecast either.

80 years ago we had our big flood in South Australia. I remember it because I was allowed to keep my feet on the chair rungs while eating my breakfast.
But in a few months it will be the bush fire season and all this water will be gone.

My sympathies to all BackShed users who are in peril because of flooding in Oz. I hope the situation resolves quickly!

Hhmm. Three or four "once in a hundred years" level floods in a few months.
I wonder if it will dry out before next years cycle.
