Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

A few days ago I ran out of coffee beens, and was out of coffee for 4 days until my Local Micro Roaster off Choice roaster ran a batch of Texas 6 Gun Express Beans an the other day I picked up a couple of pounds of beans, and after 4-5 cups of coffee I spent all night reworking my Lab / Workspace, and being retired and my health I speend 12-14 hours a day in my chair infront of my computer! SO LONG and short, I'm Lurking around the forum reading old posts as one does trying to learn something, and I saw a Photo Thread to introduce our selves. Well I'm not as Pretty as you guys but most interesting is our workspaces, how we work is way more interesting that how we look (Well except Thwill, That Cardboard mustache is a real Goer, Nudge Nudge, Hint Hint Know what I mean  A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat!) So let's see some Work Space Pron :) Not Shown is My 3D Printing and CNC Area (Too Messy)

A bit of an assortment - all live. Not shown are several ArmMites, a Duoinomite, a Maximite mono, original Maximite colour and colour 2, a Circuit Gizmos 470, a ZonkerMite 170, a Mick MUP 170 and several others of my own design. Numerous ESP modules (-01, Wemos D1 and several ESP32's)

Test equipment: Freq counter/function generator, another SilChip freq counter, 100MHz dual channel CRO, LCR meter, 4 bench p/s, TinySA Spectrum Analyser, Peak transistor tester, sigrok logic analyser.  I need a life!

I run everything with an Acer laptop running Linux Mint 20.3. FreeCAD for all 3D designing, Diptrace (under Wine) for all schematic/PCB design, GFXTerm and Putty for comms, MMEdit and Win 7 in Virtual Box as a fall back although I have not yet had to go there - everything run under Linux native or Wine.

My very deepest thanks to all the original designers - Geoff, Peter, Jim, CG, Grogster, WhiteWizzard et al. I love learning about and testing all this stuff but I really need to get a life!

... almost all of the Maximites, the MicromMites, the MM Extremes, the ArmMites, the PicoMite and loving it!

Never trust a man with a "Tidy" workspace! a Productive man has NO time to be "Tidy"

Workspace? You were lucky! When I were a lad we had to solder UX4 valve bases with a heated pickaxe - under the puddle in the middle of the hen cabin!

It's not much bigger than a hen cabin, though I also have a day-job desk and a garden table (inside) with my BBC Master gathering dust on it.

Apparently I may not have enough displays if the above two photos are anything to go by.

Best wishes,

Tom

More than me anyway - I only have one display and that switches back from VGA to HDMI every time setting a MMBASIC OPTION causes a restart. :(

I see what you mean about the sockets, Tom.

I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down the Wire mill, and pay the mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home... our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah." but we were happy, we were Grateful for that cold cup of tea, well not tea but more rainwater run off though the newspaper from Chippies

And you try to tell the young people of today that ... they won't believe you.
