Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I remember that you are a PLC guy.

Client is dead in the water, needs a PLC battery QTC85, aka 3B6880.

Can't wait for US delivery.

Do you have a source, please?

As a temporary, get you going measure, any lithium battery with solder tags will be fine, I doubt if the voltage is that critical, as long as its somewhere in the region of 3.6v.

Any 3.6V lithium will work, Craig. It may not fit the holes though.

Many thanks, guys. Yeah the voltage is not the problem, it's the 3 pins. Thanks Mick, I already found that place but no stock. I thought I found one at Radwell until I read the USA small print.

Do the pins on the blue layered sort line up, I wonder?

Edit:
No, they don't. And they are rechargeable anyway. :(

The pins are easy. The middle one is + and both the others are -
If you have space you could pop a wired AAA lithium in there. The problem is in finding a primary cell.

RS Components;
https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/computer-backup-batteries/0594268

This is a lithium thionyl chloride backup battery with flying leads; same chemistry as the QTC85, available next day.  Slightly higher spec and dimensions but I would expect it to do the job okay if you can find space for it.

Been handling the situation remotely and the guys have next to no skills.

I charge 4 figures for a call-out and so he's trying to avoid that.

There is space and I know that I could cobble something together if I was there.

Of course this is the UK and this super-panic-emergency gets put on hold until Monday
