Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Is vga like scart disappearing from modern tv's?

I'd have to say yes.

VGA is an old standard now, and not many people used their TV set for the VGA input anyway.  I setup lots of brand-new TV's for people, and I am seeing more and more HDMI sockets, and less and less of everything else - including VGA and RCA sockets too.  I have come across more then a few TV sets now, that don't even have a single RCA analog composite video + stereo audio input on them anymore.  They ASSUME that everyone has moved to HDMI now, which is not really the case.  It is certainly going that way, but plenty of people still want to hook up their old VCR's to watch their old tapes etc, and without a composite input, you're stuck on a new TV set.  Thankfully, composite video+audio to HDMI converters are easy to get and reasonably cheap, so that is the solution there, but yes - VGA sockets - along with RCA sockets, are being dropped from new TV sets in favour of nothing but three or four HDMI sockets now.

My newest TV (Samsung QN85AA 55) has no analog inputs. No Fbas, no Scart no VGA
Also on the PC-Displays it loogs like VGA will disapear in the next view years

I have no vinyl or cassette music, it is all mp3 on the usb hdd connected to living room TV. (with sd backups)
I use a logitek small sub woofer and 2 small speakers into the tv headphone socket
to turn off the tinny speakers in the 40" tv and an optical lead that goes to a small ebay box that gives stereo rca phono out to an '80's "hi fi" stereo amp driving Wharfdale Diamond IV speakers. Sounds bigger than they are and get to use the tv remote to access music files on screen.
It works and better than a sound bar.
VGA monitors are cheaper than adaptors in charity shops.
I got a HPZR22w 22 inch vga with DVI that I use.. it is like hdmi but without sound.
It came with a Optiplex 4GB ram, 1TB hdd and unused win 10 and boxed usb kb & mouse...
£10
