Hi Maximiters I’m working with the original monochrome Maximite. I’m having problems with Infrared communications, there is none. I’m using the code from the MMBasic Language Manual and have read all the posts on this site, but still can’t seem to get it running. I have used an eBay bought infrared module that has a led indicating the module is receiving and putting out a pulse stream. I have verified the pulse stream buy using the count function on an input pin. I have used other infrared receivers in the 40 KHz range and have had the same results. Any ideas? |

Have you tried different remote transmitters. For the maximite it has to be Sony compatible. Even then, some of the more sophisticated ones will not work. Jim VK7JH MMedit |

You might want to do a search for apple remote on this forum. Whitewizzard implemented this before but i cant recall what he did right now |

Here is the link to the thread implementing an Apple remote. Note that with the new MM+, there is currently a bug with the built-in IR feature. Once this is fixed, the Apple Remote will work directly from Geoff's IR command. Any questions then feel free to ask . . . . WW |

A good 'tip' for testing ir remote controls is to use your phone camera to see if the irled is flashing, most cameras pickup ir. Dave. |

@shellgray One thing to check is the IR receiver's voltage requirement. Only yesterday I was using 4.2v (from a LiPo) to feed the +ve into the IR Rx and wondered why I was getting 'random' results. It was only when I used 5v from USB did it work correctly. Just letting you know about this as it may be of some help in diagnosing your issue |

A tester for remotes I use in any place I need a quick check, is any AM transistor radio. Press and hold a button with the remote facing the radio, and tune up and down the band till you hear the blurps from the remote. Even a $5 radio works well as an audible IR remote tester. ![]() Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Search for "One for All One For All OARH01B 1 Device Universal Remote". That is one that is completely recognized (set to code 0001) and I've used quite a few times. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

This is a very old topic but I shall try if anyone is still listening! I DO need to decode Philips RC5 remote control with a micromite. The Micromite is of course, only set up with Sony and NEC protocols. Has anyone any code for RC5? Thanks for looking |

I really wish people would stop resurrecting old topics. It just forces others to wade through a lot of crap before they find the new entry. Your question is new and it should have its own (new) topic ![]() To address your question... sorry but I don't know of an RC5 implementation. It would not be easy to do so you will be lucky to find one. Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |
