Hi folks.
I've had a few requests from various sources about quick setup commands. All that is needed, is to refer to the manual for the correct pin numbers, but I can certainly appreciate that this is a tripping point or an annoyance to those who want to get going ASAP without having to scan pages and pages of data, so here is a list of quick setup commands for the E100 boards.
ALL these commands assume that you have a brand-new "Blank" E100 board, that you have either just finished building from a kit, or have just reflashed the firmware for some reason, thus resetting it back to default settings.
KEYBOARD: OPTION KEYBOARD US
You can change the US to UK for England, FR for French, GR for German, BE for Belgium, IT for Italian or ES for Spanish.
SD CARD: OPTION SDCARD 47 OPTION SDCARD 52,53,17
The first line above will configure the SD card socket that is included on most LCD panels, as they don't have CD or WP lines. For the soon-to-arrive E100 SD card board add-on, you would use the second line above. The Silicon Chip version of the board uses the CD pin, but not the WP pin, as micro-SD cards don't have a WP option or sensor switch, so just leave off the 17(and it's comma) for those boards.
LCD DISPLAY MODULE: OPTION LCDPANEL SSD1963_5,L,48
You will need to change this depending on size of the LCD and controller, but most people will opt for the 5" or 7" LCD for their E100 modules. If you have a 7" LCD, just change the "SSD1963_5" for "SSD1963_7". If you have modified your LCD to use the SSD1963 controller chip to do the backlight duty, then just leave off the number 48.(and it's comma)
LCD DISPLAY TOUCH: OPTION TOUCH 01,40,39
...that's all there is to know about that one...
LCD CONSOLE: OPTION LCDPANEL CONSOLE
There are additional font, brightness and colour options you can add to that command, but that tends to be specific to the person, so refer to the MM+ Advanced Manual, page 33 for further details.
REAL-TIME CLOCK(RTC): OPTION RTC 67,66
This will configure MMBASIC to automatically load the current date and time from the RTC/MEMORY module when you switch it on. This is very useful if you are likely to be turing the unit off and on frequently, but still want the MM to remember it's time settings.
Note that all these pin-number references are SPECIFIC to the E100 boards.
I hope that helps someone, sometime, somewhere, someday.Edited by Gizmo 2016-10-01 Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
