Element14 have the Bitscope BS05U 20MHz 8 Ch Mixed Signal Oscilloscope P/No. 243 290601 in the latest issue of their Connect magazine for $58.03. Normal price is $145.00 - 60% off. Stock showing 12 left. Enter the p/no. directly to get the better price. Bitscope web site has details and software. I had a problem initially with comms as the software does not recognise com ports above 10. Found how to delete a lower number and all OK. Decoded a touch SPI from an LCD Backpack ok. Aussie designed and manufactured as well. |

What URL to you folks go to in order to see this and to see the special price? Asking even if the sale is long over which it must be by now. When I enter that PN 243 it is not recognized, with or without space. I tried element14 at newark.com and element14.com and both knew nothing of it. Maybe because that was a special number just for the sale I suppose and it's now gone poof. That regular price is pretty steep for a bare board. I see the everyday price at Robot Shop is about $100 with free shipping, so it looks like the $145 is not a price anyone would be paying -- a sort of a fantasy list price? |

I just tried entering the part number and got to the page with a note that they are on back order. Did you use the full part number '243 290601' The (very long) direct link to the AU page didn't seem to work for me. ![]() Jim VK7JH MMedit |

I use the Australian website http://au.element14.com/ . Maybe only an Aus special. I checked the link with the p/no. including the space and both price versions are listed. Roy |

I came across a very cheap but also very useful little single channel 'scope which is good for a lot of Micromite work. (up to 200 kbs) Banggood have them for $AU 20 or so. I am very impressed having had one for a little while now. Lots of useful features, probably biggest drawback is external 9 volt supply needed but a small battery pack could probably be used. Comes as a partly assembled kit so guess that reduces the cost a bit. Quite easy to assemble. JYE Tech DSO 138 Digital Oscilloscope should find it. I also have a BS05 which is good but for simple checks prefer the DSO 138. regards cs |

While the Bitscope at Element 14 is on backorder, with first supplies due late October, I have just managed to backorder one at the current special price of $58.03, plus GST of course. Bill Bill |

Mine arrived today. (It takes a few days to paddle across from the north island.) While the drop-down list stops at 10, you can directly enter a higher value and it works happily. ![]() Jim VK7JH MMedit |

Hi All, I have had a bit of a play.. ![]() The TOP wave is a 10kHz PWM (50% duty) read from my MuP3 (pin 26). The 2nd wave is a 10kHz square from the Bitscope internal generator. So far so good.. I need to do some reading as I have often got myself into a state where I get no screen updates or waveforms etc.. Anyway thanks LIGHTROCK for pointing me to the new toy. Thanks for the heads up, looks like a great deal. Guessing this could be used on mains voltage frequencies with a proper x100 probe? Got an x10/100 probe off bangood and one of the jaytech 138 units, but not game to test serious voltages with cheap scopes.. Nervous.. Ralph |

I went to Mick's link (Thanks Mick) and tried to order 3 units for me and Zonker but they only deliver in Australia. I tried to use the export customers link and couldn't get that to work either. Does anybody know how to get a few units at that price here in the US? Thanks, Lou Microcontrollers - the other white meat |

Bill, Thanks. I would take four units for me and Zonker in the US. Maybe you or someone already in business (like Mick) would be interested in helping. (No pressure) Tack on a few bucks for the trouble and everyone is happy !! Lou Microcontrollers - the other white meat |

Hi - thanks for alerting us all. I've just ordered one. As a very under-equipped beginner (I have a DMM, solder station and good microscope) what would I be advised to consider buying to use and get the most out of it? Cheers, Andrew |
