This should really be a continuation of this this thread but I so liked the name.... Here is the PCB made and populated and all works perfectly. If you want one contact WW or get some PCBs made. The last picture is with a 4" ILI9481 display and its loadable driver sub mm.startup ili9481 16,22,9,1 end sub option touch 10,5 Gerbers: 2017-10-17_175812_HAT_stand.zip Schematic: 2017-10-17_175923_schematic.pdf |

THIS IS BRILLIANT STUFF ![]() Anyone interested: I will need a couple of days for these PCBs to arrive to me from Peter before I can then assemble and ship. The initial batch is 'prototype' (but with Peter's history - they'll probably be 100% error free). Will order a larger quantity after some initial feedback . . . . . And the name you came out with is 'genius'! |

Nice work, guys! ![]() ![]() Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I think you mean: Nice work Peter! My involvement was only to request a total re-layout so the USB socket lined up with that of a RPi Zero so that RPi Zero cases could be used to house the MM HAT Stand! Hopefully a couple of PCBs will be with me soon ![]() |

Great Job Peter, Something has just clicked in my old brain. A MicroMite Hat (as posed earlier in another thread) is NOT to plug in to a Pi but to use Pi Hats to plug into it.. The Name Hat Stand cleared the fog and I think I now understand and LOVE the concept (AND the name). @Phil, When you have boards available please load a pigeon up for me with 2 or 3.. Do not leave others waiting though as I am in my busy period at work at the moment and wont have a chance to play until Mid November.. All fun has stopped for me until then. Hi Mick, I will be placing another PCB order in about a weeks time so will add a 'decent' quantity of this PCB in and send some over to you - and a couple to Grogs too! I had written some code for a couple of RPi add on cards and can't wait to have one of these PCBs arrive to 'tidy up' the wiring. It is going to make for neat solutions bearing in mind the multitude of RPi add-on modules out there (and most a very sensibly priced). With 'stackable' headers and the 4" IPS then you have a nice 'BackPack' that you can mount HATs on and that can be easily coded for us non Scratch/Python people ![]() |

WW please add two for me for now. Will get more later. I love this Pi-Hatable Micromite will let me easily use the two displays I got when I first asked Peter about using them with the 28 pin. Now to scrap my big board and just make a few hats for the 8 to 16 relays and 2 ADS1115. These will be so much easier to case and use. And will there be assembled boards? At lease the USB I killed two of my Backpack V2's had to cut the mess out and hard wired them. The USB on Mick's MuP V3 was hard on my eyes. But got use to them. Maybe time to build a reflow oven using one of the V2 backpacks. THANKS Quazee P.S Sharing some of my work. Later will post more after these are done. @ Quazee137, here is a great bit of information on a reflow oven controlled using picbasic I think. It may be a good starting point for code for the micromite. https://hobbybotics.com/projects/hobbybotics-reflow-controller-v8-03/ |

Ben Heck did one from a toaster oven... this will be bread n butter to most of the shedders here - it is Arduino based but the change to MM would be trivial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckcHyMxqesM |

There will be unpopulated PCBs, SMD modules (i.e. PCBs with SMDs pre-soldered) and fully assembled. No prices yet - but as usual they will be as low as I can possibly make them for TBS members just so we can get the MicroMite 'out there'. Updates will follow in a couple of days once I have assembled a 'test unit' ![]() WW |

Found a typo on the silkscreening: pin 22 of the 40 pin header was labelled 22 instead of 2. Corrected in these gerbers 2017-10-19_093510_HAT_stand.zip Note this also affects the ILI9481 configuration - should be: sub mm.startup ili9481 16,2,9,1 end sub CSub ILI9481 00000270 'spi_write_data 27BDFFE0 AFBF001C AFB10018 AFB00014 309100FF 3C109D00 8E030090 8E02001C ......... |

Asking Geoff and Peter WHEN these take off like the backpacks did could a version of MMBasic Something like MM2-HAT where the ILI9431 is swapped out and the ILI9481 in? WW put me in for 2 with SMD's mounted (USB LOL) and Ill try to do 2 bare boards. Peter thanks for the spreadsheet it's helping me move my work over to these. Thanks Quazee137 |
