Hi all.  

I have had a few emails via my website now, as to when and how much, shipping into USA is and if I can do it with the tariffs etc now.

Basically, the answer is "Yes", but it is prohibitively expensive to do it.

The only option available to ME(as a business entity), is Express Courier + extra tariff costs.

The standard shipping to USA now, is $157 in our money.....just for the shipping.
That equals $91 in American money at the current exchange rate, JUST for the shipping cost, without even considering the additional tariff costs.  This is more then TRIPLE what it used to be.





This essentially makes it commercially and economically unrealistic, for Rictech to ship anything into USA under the current tariff laws.  I expect that different countries, have different arrangements with USA, but for me here in NZ, this is the NZ Government arrangement with USA for now.

I know many will want to make a political statement at this point, but please do not, as that is not allowed on these forums.

This thread is only to confirm publicly, that it is uneconomic for me to send anything into USA unless the tariff situation changes, or the NZ Government makes a better deal with the USA moving forward.

As soon as I email American customers back with these kinds of figures, they quite understandably are unwilling to pay that much to buy a single CMM2G2 for example.

I do not see this changing any time soon, so FOR NOW, I have to - regrettably - refuse to sell anything to our American chums on this forum.  

Again, this thread is more a public FYI more then anything else, and please don't get political, or I will lock the thread.

But hopefully, this thread will save me having to retype the same information to everyone who emails my website.

Grog's I'm sure over here in Australia the country has a better deal going with the US than NZ has so the option of getting pricing when it's sent from Australia may be an option to look into.

It's all cos different countries, now have different agreements with USA in terms of the tariffs.

Sending a parcel from New Zealand to Germany costs, depending on the weight and delivery method (airmail or sea freight), around
29 NZ (approx. €16 to €28) for up to 2 kg.
Smaller parcels up to 1 kg sent via Economy (sea freight) are the cheapest. Airmail is faster (3–10 days) but more expensive than sea freight (10–25 days).
Important information:

   New Zealand Post: For up to 1 kg, Economy costs around 29 NZ

   Airmail (Air): Up to 1 kg approx. 33 NZ
   .
Alternative courier services: Via Shiparound or specialist import services, costs may vary but are often more expensive than the local postal service.
Customs: Shipments from New Zealand may be subject to customs duties and import VAT. (This is the buyer’s responsibility, not the retailer’s)
