Hi everyone,

I’ve been more or less quietly following the whole MMBASIC scene since the Micromite days and haven’t been as involved over the last few years, so I’m starting fresh and getting back into it. Depending on how much time I have, I hope I can make a useful contribution here.

First, I just want to say how really amazing I think everything around MMBASIC is. Thanks to everyone who contributes here for all the great ideas and inspiration - and especially to Geoff and Peter for their lasting and consistently impressive work.

I hope I can modestly contribute some small things myself over time, at least some basic experiences of my own. I’m sure I’ll have a few questions along the way, and I’m looking forward to tinkering with the PicoMite and learn about it more and more.

Hi Wolfi (sorry, the umlaut evades me on this UK keyboard!) and welcome to the Shed. :)

MMBasic has evolved almost out of all recognition since the Micromite, hasn't it? It's also now cheaper to buy a Pico than a 28-pin PIC, regulator and Microbridge as well as being easier to update the firmware. Things move on!

Hi Wölfi and welcome.

MMBasic has become absolutely mind-blowingly capable, the best thing to happen in the MCU world, in my opinion.

Furthermore, not much is ever mentioned about the amazing documentation. The manual and other supplements are my bed-time reading but developments come so fast that it's hard to keep up

But you’re absolutely right.

The documentation is excellent, and it’s so easy to get MMBASIC running on an RP Pico—and it keeps getting more and more powerful.

What I find especially impressive is that it can run as a standalone computer, just as homecomputers did back in the day.

I really love it!

I'll start chuckling and people come over, thinking I'm watching some funny clip. Nope, it's MMBasic, surprising the heck out of me.

Welcome Wölfi!

The "mites" are genuinely one of my favourite things to relax with. The fact that it is supported by such a generous group of people updating the hardware, software, MMEdit etc. makes it a very special computer series.
