Hello all,
I have a Pico 2 W model. Can I use the PicoMiteRP2350HDMIUSB firmware on it (as I do not really need the wifi features at this time) or do I have to use the Webmite RP2350 version? Thank you for your help! Do I lose anything if I use the webmite version (or I only gain)?

Pages 11 & 12 of the manual indicate HDMI uses different pins to the WiFi module so I guess it is possible but the 4 WiFi pins can't be used.

There is no specific image for Pico 2 W.
A new pico 2 cost 5 euro and supports HDMI.

Why are you asking for the inevitable problems. You may be lucky it works, and then with the next release it won't. Because it is not supported.
And whatever your final goal is, getting a working HDMI in combination with WIFI will not happen (Peter announced that somewhere). Probably because (even on the pico 2) resources run out. The Wifi support has already caused headaches without HDMI. So getting it to work is probably difficult at least.

I suggest to buy / use a standard pico 2 for HDMI.

On page 30 it says that HDMI requires a clock speed of up to 372 MHz. The WiFi chip can only go to about 252 MHz without damage so the system is too slow to allow HDMI.

But the HDMI firmware doesn't allow WiFi so the WiFi pins will be inactive.
Does the CPU speed matter if the module isn't used?

The manual shows any differences between the different versions.

The Webmites do not support USB Host mode so you are restricted to PS2 keyboards and mice.

The Webmites are considered not to need large displays of any sort (VGA or HDMI) as that would be taken care of by running a server and connecting to it via a browser. It will still work with a LCD display with or without a touch facility though.

Thank you, I am aware of the hardware differences. The question was more on the Basic programming side: are there any basic commands that do not work on the webmite (but work on the picomite)? I tried to find this info in the manual but did not easily see (please point me in the right direction if its there). Thank you! (I know that the various HDMI / VGA video modes will likely not work and that the 3d engine does not work - but will everthing else work?)

The best place to look are the Commands and Functions sections of the manual. When a command or function is only suitable for a particular platform, or if it is unsuitable for one or more platforms, then it is noted there. Generally all the "normal" commands and functions are the same for all Pico platforms.

The webmite also supports a framebuffer. Not intended for use with VGA screen, but it supports to build a graphical image inside the Webmite that you can make available through HTML, as part of a web page.

@dddns : sorry if I offended you. I just tried to avoid you getting into a lot of trouble, and may have used the wrong wording. Please keep asking questions on the forum.
