I'm still playing about, but I am enjoying the process so far.
WaveShare case, fansink and M.2 adaptor board, along with all leads etc.
I rather like that the WS kit, converts the RP5 mini HDMI, to standard HDMI. Just more convenient - for me, anyway.
ADATA 1TB NVMe SSD, on the WS adaptor board.Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!

@Grogster,
I didn't know these support boards existed. For something like 12 euro your pi5 has the interfaces that should have been on there from the start. HDMI and M.2 Add the FAN M2 SSD and for around 160 euro's you actually can have a working linux system.
Not bad....
Volhout P.S. starting from 150 euro you can get a refurbished DELL mini including W10 with 2 years warranty. Alternative option. Not much bigger in size though. Edited 2025-05-25 00:56 by Volhout

For £80 on ebay you can get refurbished Zotac ZBOX Ci320 fanless PCs: Windows 10 Intel quad core 1.83GHz 8GB RAM 120GB SSD 4x USB3 (on the back) 2x USB2 (on the front) Wi-Fi HDMI Display Port eSATA These won't update to Win 11, but neither will a Pi 5. :)
I bet they'd make a nice little linux box. Much more powerful than what I'm using at the moment!

You generally get a bit more for more dosh. ;) That looks like a nice little machine.
At the moment I have, tucked under the monitor on my desk, this fanless Win 10 box, a similar one with MX Linux on it, a Trigkey baby PC with Win 11 on it and a PicoGAME HDMI. :)
I've just been testing a £20 wireless keyboard and can now switch it between two bluetooth channels on the Win boxen and a WiFi dongle for the others. Edited 2025-05-25 03:29 by Mixtel90

@Peter,
That is the DELL series I suggested. Wide range op options. We use those as "thin clients" in manufacturing. I think we have some 500 of these stations on the network.

I really like these 2nd user Dell and Lenovo machines (and HP) - you can get some great deals. My current workstation is a Lenovo P520, W-2265 processor (12 core, 24 threads), 128Gb RAM, dual Nvidia A4000 graphics, 500Gb NVMe boot and mirrored pair of 2TB NVMe data + mirrored pair 8TB SAS. Total cost < GBP1000 of which GBP650 was the graphics cards.
