Are there any PCB design packages that will import an eagle 5.9 board ?
I used to use eagle 5.9 for boards (without eagle schematics) so ...
AFAIK Fusion 360 will only use 6.0 files or later

DEX is supposed to be able to import Eagle files but I am not sure which version.

No worries, it has an import of eagle in its menus, I have never imported an eagle project but I have imported an eagle library.

I asked DEX and they say  it requires the eagle XML files so that means eagle 6 and later. Curses !

Maybe someone on TBS has eagle v6 or later and can import it and save it as a newer version.

I think I read that eagle was now defunct but I am not sure if it can still be downloaded anywhere, maybe try it.

This just worked for me, Mick.

I downloaded "Autodesk_EAGLE_9.6.2_English_Win_64bit.exe"
It didn't run at first, just the splash screen and then it died. It's a known problem and the fix is to replace two DLLs.

Imported and re-saved an old Eagle project and it loaded straight into DEX.
