Watching you gents repurpose these inverter guts, I think it is great. So do they work semi reliably at their 1/2 rated power? Any variants that are ‘more’ trusted?

Hi Davros, I have a three inverters that I made using the Aliexpress boards.
It is hard to say which ones are the best as they are all slight variations on the same theme.
Each time I get a board they are slightly different. I always modify the 8010 board after the guidelines that Oztools set out many years ago.
I have had some of my inverters running now for around 4 years and never had any trouble with them.
I get transformer cores from wherever I can and rewind them, my system is 24 volt so I am for a maximum of 4kw output from them.
My main shed inverter is a home made unit with a 5kw aliexpress board. I use it every day and backfeed through it with two GTI inverters.
As I said they have been very reliable,
I have had PowerJack inverters in the past and they blew up with inductive power tool loads. After repairing the PowerJack a few times I gave up and stripped the transformers down and stacked the cores for rewinding and used the aliexpress board with it.
Cheers
Pete

You want boards something like these, they have Totem Pole drivers, there are some around that do not.

Some inverter boards from aliexpress come with an SPWM module marked "Century".

Even though it is pin compatible with the more common EGS002, it is undocumented.
From testing, the one I received is configured for bipolar SPWM, and I cannot change it. So be ready to swap it out with EGS002.
