I just had a phone call from his neighbour about this but, being in Perth WA, there is little I can do.
Apparently, Tony is not verbal and they are looking for relatives. If anybody in Melbourne knows Tony (Warpspeed) personally I'm sure the authorities would appreciate information about him.

Sorry to post here but it's where Tony hang out while he was on this forum.

Thank you for letting us know Klaus. I haven't been here for ages and wasn't expecting this.

I had an email from Tony back on the 16th and replied on the 18th, but hadn't heard anything since, which was a bit unusual.

He'd mentioned he was slowing down and his legs weren't working so well, but otherwise he sounded good.

I do remember him telling me that he was an only child and had never married or had children. So I am not aware of other relatives.

I think Phil (Haxby) is located relatively close and had visited, but I don't know if he may know any more  ...  and didn't Mark visit him at times  ...  maybe he may know more of his circumstances.

I'll give Phil a call, I have his number.

Klaus, I just spoke to Phil (Haxby) ... he lives fairly close.

I've sent you his phone number by email and maybe he can speak to Tony's neighbour to get more details.

Hi everyone,
that is very sad news, he is such a top fella, always willing to help, such a shame he never had a family.
Unfortunately I can't help about relatives or even other friends, he was almost deaf, so talking to him was very hard in person.

I still haven't fired up my Warpinverter, I was going to do the final wiring for the 240 and Tony was going to come over and test it with me, but work, family, other hobbies got in the way and I never got around to it.

Looks like that will never happen now, I feel bad about that, he would have liked to see another of his designs fire up and run.

That's a shame if he doesn't get better.

Sorry to hear this. He is one of my mentors here. He always guides me in all my projects here and in the diy solar power forum.

Sad to hear about his decline in health, He has always helped others on many forums and to my knowledge hasn't asked for help on projects but offered his knowledge to us all.

That is awesome news Phil, thank you so much. Give him my love and tell him to get better. I have questions still.

I've been in regular contact with Warpspeed over the past months while I'm building my Warpverter. He's been such a generous mentor, always quick to respond to my often naive questions with a detailed explanation, and often sending me components.

So I was also surprised when my last DM with him on DIYSolar forum went unanswered. Contacted Roger, heard the bad news and jumped onto this forum.

Tony, if you're reading this, get well mate! I still have a big list of questions that need answering and I'm looking forward to the day I can show you my 10kw Warpverter running.
You are an inspiration to me.
