Two new boards worth a squiz ..  not sure about cost, time etc. The Metro is a redesign of a former product but I guess that is new(ish)

I hope they didn't go to the Pimorini school of overclocking.

LOL! Lady Ada is really sharp, and is the owner and driving force for Adafruit. You never know, but I wouldn't expect any problems.

I found the pages about the boards easily but where are the circuit diagrams?

Probably obvious but I couldn't find them :(

I found github page but how to convert any of those files to schematic (PDF would be good)?

The "prettypins" are a good start, though.

It will be interesting to see how overclocking goes on these.

I have a "Adafruit RP2350 Feather with HSTX" plus the FPC and adaptor to HDMI, very nice setup and plug and play....

However, this unit is fine @ 640, occasional resets @ 1024 and no 1280 at all  

Considering I also have a genuine PICO2 that won't go past 252Mhz it might be just a low spec unit, so YMMV

The specific FLASH chip possibly seems to play a part in things. See photo below that relates to this (taken from the RPI 2350 datasheet).

Another thing I’ve read is where the silicon is cut from the disc (electrical tolerances published versus actual tolerances).

I currently have a Pimoroni Pico Plus 2 (ie RP235B) working flawlessly, but a Pimoroni PGA module with identical circuit & parts apart from the 3V3 reg (600mA vs 300mA) which will not work at 1024 or 1280. Default cpuspeed at 640 is 315000 and is stable.

Will order more Pimoroni Pico Plus 2 modules from different sources and see whether they all work (hoping) OR if some will and some won’t.
IF they all work, then will use this as a base circuit on a custom PCB to expose all GPIOs.

If ANYONE out there has got the Pimoroni PGA working at 1024 and /or 1280 then please share info.

IMHO it should be ok. There are always reservations at this stage though. :)

RPi have specified the power supply for the RP2350 *very* closely and this doesn't comply. For that matter neither does my PGA2359-CPM design or Peter's new one. All three designers have decided to forget the switching regulator and use linear regulators. We may be right or we may be wrong. :)  I suspect Peter's design might be the best of the three as the supply voltage can be trimmed. There will definitely be other modules that use linear regulators.

They have used GP25 for the Neopixel. That should be ok as Heartbeat is diabled on the RP2350B, I believe. It can always be switched off anyway.

GP23 has been used for the "D23" LED. That's fine as with a linear regulator D23 isn't used.

You will lose three pins that are connected to the SD card connector as MMBasic doesn't support them.

You also lose GP26 and GP27 as they are connected to HDMI and aren't supported.

Apart from that I *think* it will work. You need to check configurations for HDMI pins etc.

I really think, that the first production tranche is so faulty that they want to sell them off.. ..maybe not only a problem of the PGA2350?!

The WeAct stuff hasn't been too bad in the past. They will probably meet the Raspberry Pi specification but they might not overclock by much. That doesn't make them bad boards, just unsuitable for some purposes. :)  The PGA2350 is the same - it meets the spec (AFAIK). We shouldn't really expect more than that. lol

The 2350 Metro was in stock this morning briefly.  Since then the page changed, I guess they sold out quickly but there are boards without the psram remaining.
The delivery options from Adafruit USA are expensive, but now the boards are flowing they should be available from the resellers in a bit.

4 MB Ram running on the Mac emulator (using PSRAM) with System 6 and now sound works also.
