I'm surprised that Global Standard Direct is so much. For me, for shipping to the U.S. and Canada, it's about $1.70 USD for 5 PCBs up to 100mm x 100mm.

When you buy a pack of 5 100mm x 100mm boards from JLCPCB you get a special cheap shipping rate as well as a reduced cost on the boards.

As soon as the board size goes up or you add more than one item to the order you pay the full shipping cost based on the weight and destination. Populated boards will also cost more to ship due to their bulk. That price may well be correct.

I always use EuroPacket .. sometimes the PCB arrives within one week! Most of the time it is around 1,5 weeks.

OK, then almost everything is clear, except for one thing: The DRAM chip is currently out of stock (U33 - APS6404L). This means I have to order it from Mouser and solder it on by hand.

I would prefer to wait with the order until this component is also available by JLCPCB so that I don't have to solder it myself.

Oh, and something else would interest me. I have a colleague who has a 3D printer. He could print the housings for me. Does anyone have the necessary printer files?

Or is this a standard housing that I can also order from JLCPCB?

See here I'm fairly certain you will need to adjust the exit holes, as this was designed for the original Ref. design. I used FreeCad.

Obviously you need to sort out front and rear panels (plastic ones are supplied or it can accept 1.6mm PCB if you want to get them made in that way). This enclosure is available from most of the larger component distributors and is pretty cheap. It looks very much like a slightly smaller CMM2 case.

You can also find the same, identical case from Multicomp, under the part number MCRM2015S but it costs more!

Hi Michael, thanks for your STL files for front and backpanel. I've checked the two files (Körper1.stl and Körper2.stl) and I think Körper2.stl is corrupt.

But I will use the PCB files from Daniel anyway.

For anyone in UK (or further afield if willing to pay extra shipping) I have some units heading my way from JLC.
I already have the PSRAM chips (from Mouser), and also have the cases too.
Front and rear panels also coming in from JLC (hopefully correct hole sizes & spacing!).

Rather than send separate PMs to those of you that showed interest in this module when ordering the DIL module I am letting you know here that I will have units fully assembled and housed early next week.

Simply drop me a PM if you want to reserve one.

Estimate £48 for PCB with PSRAM, housed in enclosure, with front and rear panels in black. Shipping INCLUDED but yet to be worked out exactly (will just pass on the cost like I did for the DIL modules, so the price may go up or down a small bit).

@Daniel: I uploaded your Gerber files to https://jlcpcb.com and with the Gerber viewer in 3D mode I couldn't really see that there were cut-outs. Is that ok?



Is the board outline layer responsible for the cut-outs? If so, then it could be OK and ‘only’ a display problem in the Gerber viewer - but I have no experience.

I can confirm all is good with the Gerber file, and you will get the panels cut out with all the holes!

Mine arrived earlier today and everything fits nicely into the recommended enclosure as can be seen below.

I have zipped both the dxf and fpd files. Pete had both panels on one dxf and so I had to split them.

Is there anyone in the US that is going to make a batch of these new designs?  I would like to git one.
