G'day Andrew,
AFAIK there is no separate manual as such for the Pico Computer 3, although I too seem to remember something being available but alas cannot find anything.

In reality, it is an all in one board running an RP2350B and whichever flavour of MMBasic we load onto it, so apart from cleverly setting the options up by itself, the standard MMBasic manual applies as much to it as any other.

The examples in the MMBasic manual should all be applicable.

The main things that have caught me (and perhaps others) out are:

Serial Console is CH340 TTL-USB and TERA-TERM etc needs to be set for 115200-8-N-1.
Serial console is on USB3 port near power switch.
USB-Micro port is FIRMWARE UPDATE only.
Heartbeat LED is enabled via jumper near WIFI module.
USB mouse will work more often with OPTION MOUSE SENSITIVITY 1.
(option mouse sensitivity doesn't seem to be remembered with option disk save / load)

Suitable firmware is:
PicoMiteHDMIUSB
PicoMiteHDMIWEB

To upload new firmware:
Power off / unplug PC3 board.
Move USB-HUB slide switch to DISABLE.
Plug programming cable into USB-Micro port near SD Card slot.
Hold down BOOT button on PC3 board.
Plug USB programming cable into PC.
Release BOOT button on PC3 board.
Drag "Clear_Flash_Universal.uf2" onto "RP2350" drive that appears.
Drag firmware of choice onto "RP2350" drive when it re-appears.
Wait for completion of transfer.
Unplug programming cable.
Move USB-HUB slide switch to ENABLE.
Plug USB3 cable into USB3 port near power switch.
Switch power on.
Connect terminal via CH340 serial port at 115200-8-N-1.
Check options are correct.
Set resolution as desired.
Test out all the latest MMBasic goodness from Peter.

Thankyou for the offer on the PC3 board, I would be happy to help cover a part of the international freight cost as well.

I am out near Whittlesea just north of Melbourne so at least not too far away.

PM on its way shortly.

Regards, Lyle.

Well after spending all of yesterday trying to pair this K250 keyboard on the command line got the mouse done first time then at the end of the day finally got the K250 showing the 6n as it was typed in it failed and kept failing hour after hour.

So gave claude an hour to get it going or going back to MMBasic as more support as it does look there is not many users of micro-python and I have hammered the pico3 where GPS, wifi, network, Flip 6, some BLE so I'm going to port over club.py to MMBasic and start a fresh.asked claude as the 2040w was setep to program and 15 minutes later just did it myself so that huge learning curve just went sideways

Well first looks are proving nicely   put the HDMIWEB uf.2 in went

OPTION WIFI "****", "********"

got 2 boards flashed and both connected to wifi at boot, setup TELNET on both and now claude can just push the files over wifi

So in MMBasic is the BT installed as setting up the flip 6 should be easy and with BLE hopefully easier than that rabbit hole that never cameout in micro-python trying to get the K250 Logitech BT keyboard connected.

Well decided to RTFM and it soon became apparent getting wifi and bt going on the same firmware isn't done for MMBasic so I have given claude a mandate lets switch to MMBasic and get this flip 6 working beside wifi with no limitations on graphics so just like my effort of maxing out the pico 3 in python can be done in MMBasic

Peter I don't want to step on your toes but as I have had a BT speaker working along wifi and got 99% of the way getting BLE going along side before I blew my stack with this rabbit hole as I have with claude all the gear to build the firmware I may aswell make a uf2 where the name is simply "pico 3 The one that rules"

I setup the 2040W so the steps of micro-usb cable is gone and no need to hold down the boot button anymore as the 3 pin Jtag can do it all.

As with this pico 3 board I have found that the usb chip where a fault was raised hasn't been a problem on the operation every day and using my laser temp probe that chip does run about 2 degrees above ambient.

claude is finally busy now doing something productive so it will be interesting to see if 'IT' just gets this right first time where in less than 4 hours of installing MMBasic I have my Flip 6 working along wifi with full colour graphics.

It was typical of claude when I asked it to build new firmware so the Flip 6 could pair along wifi went straight back to that rabbit hole of the K250 and the 6n saying ble was installed beside V6.04

As far as the 2040w doing the programming it went from one flash to none as it said it lost the connection so gong back to manually doing the USB swap was the norm instead of just using the 2040w connected to the board.

Anyway typical with claude second day into the new week and got a session limit so with nothing working in python or mmbasic the rabbit hole is there everyday so what other AI is there as I am going to ask for a refund from anthropic on this issue as it's AI is hopeless.

Can anyone advise if all RP2350 versions on MMBasic V7.00.00b5 run on the Pico Computer 3 without causing any damage?
